Taking back deposit, can be done?

Hi,

i am not a local but will be moving over to LA in fall 2015. So i have prepared myself to get a deposit for f80 m3.

Meanwhile, right now there is a change of plans needing to get a bigger car, not that i know 2016 is going to have an LCI update..

The question is could i take back my deposit (its not big)...

As i am not local i dont do any paperwork etc. i just contact through emails and wire the money. My Sales said that deposit cannot be refunded for m3.. However i am starting to dig in the forum and found out that it is a legal law to have refund even if the car have arrived ...

So what do i have to do guys? I have tried contacting my sales but it seems like he is not really happy about it (not replying). I hope he could appreciate my trust wiring money half way over the world without even ever visit his showroom and do any paperwork

Did you order from a dealer in California? If so yes - refundable.

any deposit is refundable unless the car has gone into production.

Hey, yes i have production number already..

But a guy said that even when the car arrived in the showroom you can still takeback deposit...

i think that would very much depend on the dealer and their mood.

No it is not an individual order,
Its a standard order with no additional individual

In CA all deposits are refundable if you decide not to take the car you ordered . Its the law!

Yup that is exactly what another guy in the forum told me,

However what do you think i should do?
Dealer is not responding my email about getting the deposit back

Well if the law dictates that you get it back no matter what I see no issue either way.

What's the spec on your car? If it's an M3 you might be able to transfer your order to someone else.

If the sales associate will not return your msgs, call and ask to speak to the sales manager

It doesn't matter if you car is produced or not! Ask to speak with GSM or GM of the dealership.
