This way I get $56,659 for M4.

So that is about $100 gap between both of your methods which is fine. But when comparing to the 2015 Invoice sheet that went around, these numbers do not add up. For example, a 2015 M4 with either of your methods shows a ~$600-$700 gap between prices listed on the invoice sheet.

Which is the precise one to go with?
That is because someone who posted the 2015 invoice numbers added $500 to the 2015 invoice. The word then was that the invoice pricing for the 2015 was raised by $500 on Jan 1st 2015 but the MSRP remained the same. But in the quotes I got my CA's in as late as March and April, I didn't see that $500 applied anywhere in the invoice cost. I have not seen anyone confirm that the $500 was indeed applied to the invoice starting 2015 so I left it out of the equation.

Hopefully this clears the discrepancy you are seeing.

For starters it is no longer the release year of the all new revamped M3. The hype has died down some and there are some used 2015's to be had as well. Second point being, out of every 10 dealers I approached only 1 or 2 were willing to even talk close to invoice. You have to be willing to work hard and be patient when looking for deals over invoice.

Ah I see, can you just do me a quick favor and tell me what you think the M4 ED Invoice price should be?

I want to make sure we are on the same page. The U.S. MSRP is $65,400 for the M4.

Sure. $56,005. It could be off by 20-30 bux.

Cool, I will take your word for it but now I am a bit more confused as when I use your method of calculating I come out to $56,659 for M4. I must be doing something wrong -___-

I'm also about to pull the trigger on a 2016 M3 ED. I'm getting a similar deal as you, have you been given any ED dates yet?

I was just told today that I could possibly do August 10th, which according to the ED office is the first date for any 2016 M3 ED's.

I told you earlier you are adding that $500 someone claimed got added to the invoice starting Jan 1st 2015. No one has confirmed that so I have left it out. I go by what a CA quotes me and in what was quoted to me for 2015, that $500 was not included in the invoice.

Dates cannot be given until allocations are released. From what little I understand so far about the ED process early August is highly unlikely but I could be wrong. Good luck

When I was getting quotes I had two different dealers tell me I was about 700 off in my invoice price. Only thing I could think of was the 500 increase and about 200 worth of maco/training fees. I just said the hell with trying to figure it out and since I was in the 3-4k range off msrp it was okay deal on an ordered car. If I was buying from the lot I would push for more.

I got 3 quotes in March and April and all of them were spot on.

I was given the date of Aug 10 from my CA who got it directly from Sabrina in the ED office. She made it clear that it's the earliest any 2016 US ED M3 can be scheduled, so I'm fairly certain that is correct.

I have a long standing relationship with my dealer so I'm pretty sure they will give me their first allocation, although this isn't confirmed yet.

I'll have to email my CA again. I still wouldn't book any trip related stuff until I had both the production number and ED confirmation date. I'm shooting for Aug 18th.

Where do you plan on going? I'm looking at heading towards Lake Como to Nice and then working my way back up north to Freiburg. I'd like to get up to the Ring and maybe drop off in Frankfurt, but it might just be better to loop back to Munich so I can spend more time exploring southern Bavaria. I have two weeks and I'm thinking a max of 5 cities.

Same thing I ran into. Even some I emailed out of state said the exact same thing. Fucking Christ I really want Tesla's pricing/ordering model to take over and get rid of these dealerships.
