Disabling Active Sound Disables Burbles?

I see many people disable their ASD. Does it also disable burbles?

It can be done via bimmercode or BM3. Does it make a difference?

I don't want to change the settings and end up being stuck with it for whatever reason (read some posts about it)

My plan is to disable ASD without disabling burbles. Thanks for any input and please refrain from any opinions about how annoying burbles are.

If you disable active sound via BM3, it will take away the burbles. Not sure why. For some reason my BC program can't read asd so if I want to disable it in my car, I'll have to unplug it.

I've disabled ASD via Carly for BMW, had no effect on exhaust burbles, as there's no relation between feature coding and engine tuning. Then I disabled the burbles from my tune via my tuning app.

As mentioned you are going to need to do it outside of bm3 is you do not wish to disable burbles as well

bimmercode no, but bimmerlink does (same developer but a different paid app). it may be in beta but you can contact them via a service ticket to get access.

For some reason in my BC it says it can't do anything to the asd and to restore the asd coding from backup but I cannot since i didn't change it to begin with. Shoot.

Thanks for the information. I was surprised it could be done through Bimmercode.
Too bad.

No but you can disable it with JB4 and it has a slick integration with the BC button which was a delightful surprise.

You guys don't have this option to disable ASD in BimmerCode? It's the first option for me. [IMG][/IMG]

It does..... but you can leave ASD on in BM3 but turn it off via Bimmercode and it all works fine. No ASD and you got your burbles

the user was asking about burbles not ASD. although maybe one disables the other in some programs but I'm not sure if that's the case for bimmercode.

I've been looking to do this also and came up w/ this .....

If you like your burbles and would like to turn off the active sound on the speakers you need to "code" using Bimmercode (easiest way) or ask someone to remote code it.... or get that cable but will take myb 30 mins to install in your trunk.

Do not use BM3 as that will turn off the burbles. Not sure if it will also turn off the fake engine sound.

I wish BM3 would just dig deeper and separate the burbles from the speaker AS.

The other option is to unplug the module (first thing I did as soon as the car got home from the dealer). The box is in the truck under the driver side tail light.

First time I've heard this. I'm wondering if it were that easy then why would someone need to purchase a 40$ harness to turn this ASD off? Something else must be affected by just unplugging this "box".

$40 harness vs $27 app that can code many other things.... everybody has their own way i guess. I think the harness was out first. Many things have changed over the years

Nope, you get a stored code for it but no lights in the dash. Had the car for almost 2 years now and still unplugged.
