Man.. if my buddy was spending 20% of his income on a car, it would be Beamer, Benz or Bentley, cuz his pockets never empty.

Just for shits and giggles, I'm curious what percentage of everybody else's net income is spent on a car.

BTW I wasn't trying to make assumptions just chatting. 2k seems like reasonable rent. Don't mean to ruffle any feathers.

I don't know what my payments will bet yet but i'm guessing in the 6-7% range. That's on my income but I'm getting married on 4/5 so it'll change a little.

too complicated. depends on money down. I never understood basing this off of monthly payments

personally I don't finance this current car, but I plan to finance part of my new m3 based on good rates and the fact I love investing money in the market

Looking at some of the payments being posted, I don't see how these numbers are adding up. On a 83K car (taxes included), putting 50% down would still put the payment over $900.00 for a normal 48 mo. loan. For me 48 mo. is as long as I'm willing to go.

most people aren't spec'ing out an 83k car, I know Im sure as hell not. Mine is 69k if I go exec pack, 65.75k if not.

I think people are assuming 60 mo loans for lower monthly payments.

Exactly.

I'm at 74k for my F82 now that I'm dropping DCT. I think it is still well optioned. Exec, Lighting, HK, Suspension, Wheels.

The ///M3 that I order sure as hell won't be $83k. My spec's put it right around $70k.

Am I the only one who wants the base model F82? Even then it will be nearly $70,000 with TTL.

I agree. I still think im getting ripped off on this lighting pack. But I worry about resale with packages like that.

I don't think the absence of the Lighting package will hurt resale as much as the absence of the ZEC Executive package (..not that I spec any car based on the presumption of a higher resale).

I have been puzzled by a lot of the rate quote on this thread. I think people are mixing lease rate versus a financed purchase and the BMW Select Finance with balloon payment added to further confusion.

For a plain vanilla financing, here are what monthly payments should look like assuming a 2% interest rate:

36 Months: $286 per month per $10,000 of loan
48 Months: $217 per month per $10,000 of loan
60 Months: $175 per month per $10,000 of loan

Assuming the all in cost of your vehicle is $70K and you put $20k down, the monthly payment will be $1085 (48 mo loan) and $875 (60 mo loan).

Most lease.....people who finance outright are the minority. Informative post however.

People who lease seem to be more vocal.

Don't also forget that some people actually save (gasp) and buy cars for cash.
