Tinted Glass in NJ - laws

I've read online, front windshield and front windows cannot have tinted glass in NJ unless you have a medical certificate. What percentage tinted glass is everyone applied to their vehicle? I purchased my M4 and the previous owner had it applied, but cannot tell what the percentage is.. The problem is mainly at night driving, it's hard to see outside the windows. I really don't need the traffic tickets from the Po-Po either. Can anyone decipher what it the percentage grade on this picture for the driver/passenger side?

look like you have 20%. NJ i think is 75% by law.

Back windows can be as dark as you want, can’t have any on front windows or windshield.

I’ve been running 50% tint all around since 2007 on all my BMWs without any issues (knock on wood). Used to run 20% on my Celica previous to that and gave up after getting pulled over 3 times (only ticketed once).

run 18% on all windows expect windshield. only got ticket once but was part of my running a stop.

cops don't bother me...if you pull all four down during the stop they are usually chill..,

I know the more north you go; the stricter it gets; but lots more tuners and whatnot up north.

just tint it how you want...50ish bucks a ticket; price for heat rejection and apperance

edit: no prescription will allow dark tint on front windows so its really not worth the hassle IMO

On my last 135 I ran 50 front 30 back which is VA state legal, I was living in VA at the time and when I moved back, not a single cop ever bothered me. On my 240 I ran 30 all the way around except windshield, no one really looked at me then either. Currently I have none on my m4 or my 135is but will be doing 50 front and 30 back.

been running 25-35% on my bimmers in NJ for a couple years and cops wont bother you unless you're doing something else wrong

I picked up the car from VA, and so far, I've not been pulled over.. my doctor as agreed to get me the note & paperwork done for the special permit since I can stand brightness and sunglare.

i have 50% all around even the windshield on my M3CS

no issues so far

I have 35% all around as well as the windshield. Like people here mentioned, if you are not really doing anything crazy they won't bother you. It will also depend on what town. Good luck

It may appear darker if your windshields are tinted. If they are the sides looks 30 if front windshields are not tinted, you are 20%

my windshield is not tinted. I'm in somerset county, so far so good have not been pulled over..
