💯 Rare company. Not to mention two were salvaged and two more show accident/damage.

Makes me wonder what the percentage is for F80 in general. 1/10 is wild. 😳

Updated the chart with vehicle conditions. I am also working on the F82 CS list. Have identified a total of 716.

I don’t see my vin listed. I have BSM with carbon ceramic. So 1/15? Pretty rare then. How can I add my vin to the list. I thought I did.

That is a rare spec. Congrats. You can PM me your VIN. It most likely is on VINwiki under the entire CS list. I haven’t had time to update all of the individual color lists yet.

And on here I’ve only posted the salvaged and accident/damaged VINs. I’ll add the others later as well.

So if I’ve understood correctly, you have identified 652 of the 661 F80 CSs made for North America (661 is based on SickFingas analysis). That’s great work! Hopefully you’ll identify the final few in time.

I am doing similar research, currently with RHD F80 M3s (before moving onto North America) and then tackling the F82s and F83s, which present their own challenges.

That is correct. I can confirm the 652 I have listed are valid CS VINs. I wonder where he got the 661 number. Hope to identify 9 more VINs if they exist.

I appreciate the kind words and wish you luck as well. I know how time consuming and challenging it can be.

I’m sure the missing 9 will exist. I’ve tended to find SickFingas numbers accurate - I performed a similar analysis on E9x M3s and was able to match to his findings, bar a couple of minor differences (he showed 1 more Alpine White and 1 less Space Grey than my own research found).

I have the VINs for all 17,161 NA F80 M3s, but haven’t yet downloaded the build sheets so can’t help with the missing CSs,… yet.

I have one of 5 FDB with non executive package. I know most prefer the executive but I love the rawness of not having it.

I appreciate the offer! I started collecting the M4 CS as well. Have found 700+. I hope to have that info posted up within the next week or so. Still need to confirm quite a bit, but will post what I have.

To me the Exec Pkg is a no brainer. It’s not like there is a huge weight savings or benefit to not getting it. The Adaptive LED lights themselves make the package worth it. HUD and parking sensors are a plus. The shades I could do without.

Yeah, it would have been nice but for a 6k mile car at under market price it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I don't miss it.

You’re the man, incredible work and we all greatly appreciate it!

Concerning the M4 CS, do you have an educated opinion on whether BMW really created the number of cars they said they would? I swear the number feels much lower, I still have never seen one in the wild besides mine and I never see that many on Autotrader either. My hunch is they sold so poorly originally, that BMW stopped the run before they hit the planned number (just a guess of course). Thanks!

Also, do you have my car? If not just let me know and I’ll PM you the VIN.

My view is that the estimated numbers are likely in the right ball park.

Obtaining accurate build numbers for F8x M4s (including CSs) is complicated due to BMW changing their VIN allocation process in May 2019. This means that identifying the F8x M4s built in the final year of F8x production is challenging, but I don’t believe impossible and I have a plan to tackle it.

I’m sure that in time we’ll be able to confirm accurate numbers made, along with being able to filter by colour, interior, transmission and various options.

So we really think they made 3k of them? I can't believe I wouldn't have seen at least another on the road in the past 6 years if so. I mean, I've seen two M3 CS cars during that time and those are certainly rarer. Perhaps more of the M4 version are overseas? My experience is a small sample size of course, I'm just trying to figure out where all these cars could be hiding. Thanks for your help as well!

SickFinga wrote this in June 2019 (just at the point the VIN allocation method was changed), in relation to F82 M4 CS build numbers:

"So far there are 999 RoW LHD, 362 RoW RHD and 682 NA versions"

So that's 2,043 F82 M4 CSs made for the worldwide market, still with another year of production remaining.

Appreciate it man! I don't have official numbers, but I do think they made around 2,000+ M4 CS worldwide, and not anything near 3,000. SickFinga posted those numbers in June 2019. Hard to see BMW pushing out 1,000 CS' in the last couple months of the production year.

I do have your VIN on the list 😉 The FDB has been the rarest color thus far. I have confirmed roughly 640 and of those; FDB=24, MR=48, BSM=104, LRG=107, AW=153, SMB=200.

Here is that quote from SickFinga from June 2019:

Identifying the M4 CS from mid 2019 has been extremely difficult. They no longer are in sequential order. 😞

I'm glad we connected and I'm looking forward to getting some concrete figures on these cars.
