Insurance price for a 18 year old with a f82

I was asked this question a lot in my previous thread. I am a fairly new driver, 18 years old and I was given the wonderful opportunity to get my hands on a 2018 F82. Many of you were wondering the price so here it is.
$1,228 for a 6 month term.

Honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I got mine at 23-24 and only with a regular road licence not full.

I paid around 3850 full year.

Insurance is weird, you would expect it to be more but it's done based on crash rates of that type in local regions and payouts.

Most M car owners are a little bit older and a bit more responsible so they help bring your rate down.

After 25 it comes done about 25% in canada and then as you keep going it gets better.

You got a good rate, keep your record clean and don't get cocky. These cars are generally forgiving as long as you are.

I'm pretty sure my '17 F80 zcp is $87 monthly or $1044 per year with multi-car discount. Guess getting old and living in the Midwest has a few benefits!

That seems to be about right for a performance car at your age. When I was 19, I was paying about $1300/6 months for my E46 M3.

Not too bad. Though ive heard where you live impacts the price GREATLY. Oddly enough when I moved from CA to FL my insurance doubled. Ive heard Michigan is very high too.

THat's not too bad given your age... then again, not many 18 year olds drive these cars and most of us are older and have more sense than to drive like maniacs (or at lease are better at not getting caught), so that brings the statistics down.

That's a ridiculously good rate for 18 years old! Do you know what your coverages/limits are?

Hey so a few things. Its full coverage but the reason why it seems that my rate is good is because im under a co-owner of the car and my dad is the primary owner. I dont really know a whole lot about insurance but this was just the info my dad told me.

Mine was $1400ish for 6 months through progressive as a 24 year old with a couple tickets and a wreck on my record

I turned 26, my tickets and wrecks fell off the record, and my current rate is $860 for 6 months

Having an M4 at 18 years old, i'd have definitely gotten in trouble lol.

I'm 33 now, but when I was 18 (back in 2006), I was able to purchase myself a 1998 Civic EX with a whopping 120hp... still managed to get speeding tickets.

Just be safe and smart out there. It's a hell of a car for such a young age.

OP - Get into your local track scene and sign up for instruction. Driving on track will suppress any desire to drive like an ass on the road, namely because it's boring.

Yep exactly what im doing! I have a European teacher who I had back when I was learning my normal driving and techniques. In the last class, I had with him which happened to be my license test, I tell him if I get into this college and a nice scholarship ill be getting my hands on a 2018 f82. He handed me his business car for track racing so yeah. its hype!

It's actually kind of interesting how inexpensive insurance for M4 is. For reference, a 2018 A5 Coupe 6sp costs $100 (CAD) more per year than a 2016 M4 6sp, and a 2016 S5 6sp costs $200 more per year. I guess maybe claims are less on the M4 or more mature drivers purchase the car?

I managed to hit a tree with my 90's Civic EX during a street race lol. As kids, we are stupid.
