wheel combo for track - 19s/18s

Hi Guys,

I'm sure this has been discussed b4. I'm currently running 19x9.5 ET22/19x11 ET37 with 265/35/19 - 305/30/19 RE71Rs.

Tendency is to push, so would like to possibly move to a more neutral setup.

I was thinking of going with a 18" setup square with 285 or 295 /30/18 on
10.5" or even 11".

Can anyone offer suggestions on a wheel combo that would work?
i'm running -3.2fr /-2rr deg camber on bilstein coilovers.

Thanks,
Steve

you guys think I could run the 18x11 ET30 GT4 wheels with either 285/295 square?
I could do the 25mm spacer up front

The bimmerworld ta5r 18" 10.5ET36 works square and fits well.

11" GT4 wheels do not fit easily. If you were chasing tenths you would be on another suspension, so i don't see the point in trying to fit wheels/tires that even dedicated track cars are not running (not trying to be offensive FWIW)

What size tires are you running or recommend for the ta5r 18s?

Anything from 275/35 RE71 or equivalent to 285/30 BFG R1, to 295/30 Hoosier R7 or A7, to 305/660 Michelin.

Are you sure you didn't mean 18x10.5? I don't see a 19x10.5 ARC 8 on Apex's website.

They are the Camaro wheels. I had them bored out to F80 hub specs at a machine shop. 19x10.5 +35 but using a 25mm spacer on the front.

Titan wheels sells 18x10.5 et34... that are really nice looking wheels and fully forged. I'm looking to run these square with the 285/35/18 Hankook RS4. It's a very good tire with a very wide tread width.

I assume you are running crazy camber in the front?

Hs anyone tried the 513m from the m2cs racing? They are very cheap and look awesome.

10.5 x 18 et46 would these fit with spacer in front? Thanks!

You're going to need a 25mm spacer to run that in the front.

My first choice was a square 19'' setup but I found it difficulkt to find a offset I was happy with. My experience was 19'' is popular for cars with CCB or if you want to go staggered. 18'' seems to be the popular for a square track setup.

I decided on the 18x10 et33 Bimmerworld TA16 when they were discounted early in May. 275/40/18 Goodyear Supercar 3.

Good luck!

I just found your post as I was reseaching Titan 10.5x18 for a square set-up for next season. Did you end up buying these? If so, would you mind sharing any details... suspension, camber and spacer size?

Have you tried 295/30 tires?

thanks!

Never did. But after all the research I did I have no reason to believe they wouldn't work. 295/30 should work also, but it's going to look very small (won't fill the wheel well) plus I'd rather run a 35 profile in the front anyway. Also I don't like the look of 295s on 10.5" wheels, they will almost always bulge out as opposed to stretching. Most 295 tires have about 11" tread widths effectively making them wider than the wheel. Hope that helps.

Correct, the bulging sidewall means your tire is too wide for your wheel
