Coding different tire sizes
I need to replace street tires soon so considering the new Conti 200 thread. Unfortunately the sizes are not matching M4 stock so I am considering 265/35 front and 295/30 rear what will be F/R ratio 0.98 in comparison with stock ratio of 1.02.
The intention is to use as wet setup so DSC will be on so I wonder if somebody knows how to adjust the tire ration on DSC in order to avoid error issues as I see few people already post on this forum for this ratio combination. Regards |

Do you mean "Conti 200 tread"? There's a ContiVanContact 200 on Continental's website, if that's the one you're referring to. Never heard of coding a different tire size or, for that matter, having DSC errors because of different tire sizes. Not even sure DSC can be coded for that. Might be a problem if you had Xdrive, but not on an F8x RWD.

Right is the Conti Extreme Contact Force which will launch next month. For our cars the only option would be 265/35 square or 295/30 but as I said would change almost 4% rolling circumference between F/R.
I see some comments here with people reporting 295/30 showing DSC errors. The car is programed for a specific ratio F/R in order to calculate slippage. I know could turn off DSC but is not that simple as some functions are still active including ABS. Also plan to use the tires for damp/wet conditions and R for dry. |

You don't code out TC, you stick to similar diameter as stock. I've run Conti 5P in 275/35/19 front and 295/30/19 rears on slightly wider BBS. There were no TC issues but the 275 felt heavy and they rubbed in one tiny spot (no big deal). The 295 looked a little short in comparison (see pic, Base suspension, not lowered yet). I reused my stock 275 rear tire so I haven't actually tried 265 with 295. After that round I went straight to 265/35 and 305/30 in Bridgestone RE71Rs. They look and feel right, and grip very well, but do make road noise.
If you want to be real sure on a combo working or not just send a PM over to Jimmy at SignatureWheel.

Tks TopJimmy. I really dont care about look my goal is to use the new tire which dont have many options in size now as current street tires need replacement.
Did you track your car with DSC on? No errors? |

I hear if you track your car with DSC or MDM on you will eat your brakes and also limit your ability to learn "the real car". I would try to learn with DSC fully off.
