Xtreme Powerhouse XPH front Lip SUCkS Cust. Service SUCKS Pics included
This is an honest, no BS review and pics are attached. Im a grown ass man and don't have time to throw a little tantrum over minor things, the fact i'm evening taking time to do this review is solely to warn other members of the crap Mike the manager from XPH pulled on me and the defective piece of flimsy lip they mailed me.
I ordered a XPH 3D style front lip from XPH website earlier this month. Cost about $230 with shipping. I got the item pretty quick, NV to Los Angeles. I noticed this thing was super flimsy and cheap with no pre cut holes or markings. Whatever, no big deal since i just needed a lip sturdy enough and i track my car so i don't want a $700 lip on my front bumper getting covered in rubber. Took about 1.5 - 2 hours of total install time including lifting the car, measuring holes drilling etc. The fitment, is off. The grooves on the bumper, don't fit snug along the lines of the actual bumper. Also, the bottom of the lip needs to be extended out about an inch (its a little too short). Whatever, i got it over since it only cost about 200 bucks, it got the job done. I pull out of my garage, i drive 1 mile to the freeway, get on the on ramp and as I am merging onto the FWY i hear loud wind noise. By the time i double check my windows and sunroof im on the FWY and noise is getting louder. I immediately pull over, look at the front bumper, and it appears sliced horizontally. I was pissed off, naturally, since i had it on for less than 5 minutes. I pissed off also, because NOTHING hit my car. Just the head wind alone destroyed this piece of crap and it shredded itself apart. I had to get somewhere so i had no choice and got back on the FWY. By the time i got to my destination, chunks of this thing were flying off and out the back end of my car like paper. This thing literally disintegrated itself from the headwind of going around 65-75 miles per hour. The worst part is, after sending pictures, and explaining to Mike that from the pics you can CLEARLY tell theres no blunt force damage, no scratches, marks, cuts nothing indicating that something hit my bumper or lip, he still refused to help a customer out. He kept insisting that something hit my car, and refused to accept that the item i got had some internal defect within itself, or maybe they are just selling cheap crap for 200 bucks. After a week of going back and forth with this guy i had no choice but to call my bank and explain the situation to them. And, this guy actually had the balls to suggest i purchase a new from him, "at cost." As if I will ever pay another dollar to this company. Very disappointing customer service. For a $200 item they lost a customer forever, and they lost two more because I had two guys see my post in the member classifieds who sent me a DM and i told them to stay away. Not to mention, Mike didn't email me for about a day so i emailed him to inquire whats going on and he told to not double email him, otherwise he will put me at the "bottom" of his "queue" .. Wow, yeah thats what a customer wants to hear. I have no shame in posting this because i told Mike i would in one of my emails days ago, clearly he does not care because he would have tried to make things right. it does not take a genius to tell from these pics that nothing hit the lip. There is no impact damage it was a clean slice horizontally across the center, out towards the driver side. Anyways fellas, i urge you stay away from this lip, it is NOT worth it, and whats not worth even more is the crappy customer service. If you want to run the gamble of $230 and time wasted on install just to have this break apart then do so at your own risk. anyways, here are my pics. I was going to post the ridiculous emails for a week straight but i chose to leave those out. XPH you get two big fat thumbs down

XPH Xtreme Powerhouse LIP disintegrated on Fwy - pics attached
I posted this in the vendor reviews section here is the link if you want to read about the CRAP customer service from XPH and their manager, the week long bs i had to deal and now whats left, 1/4 of a lip in my garage thats complete trash to begin with. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...3#post26747743
this thing literally came apart on the FWY on its own with nothing hitting it, as you can tell from the pics, NO blunt damage or indications of debris hitting it. This is their, "3d" style lip. Ive seen advertisements left on peoples windshields hold up better on the FWY than this thing.

Sorry to see this happen to you. This is the reason why I don't run anything but OEM M Performance parts. They may cost a little more, but at least they are built to a much higher standard.

how would this damage be different than curbing the lip? Having a hard time visualizing a lip disintegrating

When i say disintegrate I'm referring to the fact it kept falling apart on its own from itself, chunks at a time breaking off and flying out the rear end while on the freeway. I dont actually mean it disintegrated into ashes or anything like that lol

You're not the only one dealing with some BS from this company.
I'm tempted to post my own review of the absolutely ABYSMAL customer service I've received from Mike. I'm still waiting on my refund and will consider whether I create my own post. |

It's their 3D style lip made from FRP - fiberglass. Which... if your look up on YouTube, there's videos of guys with hammer and mallet literally beating up FRP showing how durable it's supposed to be.

My xph lip was weak and not that great when I got it. I reinforced it with fibreglass and epoxied the cracks it came with and so far about two day into driving it highway speeds it held up fine, only because i made it stronger. Sucks to see your situation man

Why a company would even bother to carry such a crap product for something like a current gen M car is beyond me. But then again at $230 for a CF front lip, I'm not surprised it fell apart.
OP, unless you're really into CF, just pick up a Lightweight lip for <$600 and scrape the hell out of it. It will wreck your bumper before you wreck the lip. One time, not recurring purchase.

Dealing with the same issue except mine is terrible fitment. Ordered a carbon fiber GT lip from XPH, took a month to get it. Paid $650 with shipping. Went to install it, and like yours, the fitment was off. Quality of the weave was good, but fitment was shit. On each side of the bumper, there's a quarter to half inch gap where it won't sit flush.
I took it off, thought about it for a day or 2 and tried again with more 3M tape and better hardware. Still didn't help. Removed it and emailed Mike. Took 5 business days to get a response. He says he needs pics of it on my car to file an RMA with the manufacturer. Oh, btw - the box came with a label from Mod Bargains lmao. I emailed him saying I've already installed this POS twice, don't want to install a third time just for pics. No response yet, been 2 days. I also got the "don't send follow up emails or you will be sent to the bottom of the queue." This lip was part of a $1,100 order where I also bought CF mirror covers (turns out they are stick on and not replacements - that is on me, a CF CS style spoiler (fitment wasn't great on that either, and XPF tips. The one positive I will say is they helped split the cost of shipping in half, but that's the only good I can say. |

Those are old lol. I'm aware of that and clearly was when I took these photos. And those are my splitters has nothing to do with my lip fellas. This isn't a rant or a shit talking post about the company this just bringing awareness to how cheap this particular lip is snd their shitty service. They sell actual carbon fiber lips and other products from other vendors that I'm confident bear proper quality

Hi OP,
Im sorry to hear that you had such an experience with this product. You got the product in perfect condition, you even sent us pictures of the product installed on your car without any damages. After driving the car, it looks like you hit the lip and damaged it. We do not cover damages after you install and drive your car. Thats not a part of the warranty, but with that said i offered to refund you all the profit i made from the kit to cut your losses which you declined. If you had received the part and was not happy with the fitment, we would have taken it back at zero cost to you. If you got the part and you were not happy with the quality we would have taken it back at zero cost to you But you cant install the part , drive the car, hit it then ask us to refund you for it. FRP parts are a lot less pricey than carbon but they are not known for their durability with hits. We do offer the same product in Carbon. You chose the cheaper FRP option. Unfortunately, that's one of the risks with FRP Im sorry for your experience with us and wish you the best of luck, i would still like to help you with the cost if you change your mind about my offer this is the customer's car with the lip installed without any damages before the wind mysteriously got it destroyed during a 1-mile drive (the splitters are not from us, so we are not responsible for the scratches)
