I/we may not always agree and some discussions get heated, but there's no reason for me to dislike anybody here. We are all car dudes & dudettes in the end.

Agreed! I'll force the Beav' on you guys one way or another.

There is only one beaver I want, and it isn't the car kind.

Fortunately you've got the live-in Beav' if I remember correctly. Building dams nightly. Lol!

Here's the thing. Chris has emotion in this video ( which he didn't have in the G8x) review. It doesn't have to be a GT3. To elicit that kind of emotion. He did It with the F8x and previous M3s.

And just think...if it only had drift mode it might be almost as good as a G8X.

That vid was epic.

As a serious question, does anyone know the curb weight of the 6speed F82 compared to the G82? (Too lazy to look)

Why do I have such a hard time believing the G82 is only 100 lbs more?

Am I correct in my assumption that no one is comparing the ZF AWD version against the DCT F82?

Great review from CH as always. Both amazing and sad at the same time, as cars like this will soon be disappearing or will be harder to make with ever increasing restrictions and regulations.

Reminds me a bit of Jeremy Clarkson's video on the Vantage V12.

"Wonder, wonderful, wonderful... I just have this horrible, dreadful feeling that what I'm driving here, is an ending"

Gosh...the feels in that video. I remember seeing this homage when it came out...just as his sentiments bring sadness about the V12 vantage and what it represents, it makes me sad to see the awesome video journalism and videography that will never be the same and/or matched...especially with YouTube and such...

He's always loved GT3s, heck I remember watching his reviews of the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 nearly 10 years ago now!

If you guys want to talk about not making them like they used to, this one is a throwback to arguably the best era in German NA vehicle production:

Funny watching something like this now since they're all considered obsolete by modern performance standards, but the character of these cars just jumps through the screen... and those NA noises are something else entirely. Man, this was a great era. My only regret is that I was too young and way too broke to get into any of these at the time.

Note that the 57/43 weight distribution from the Autobild article is a typo. If you either do the math or look in the data panel of the article you'll find it is actually 53/47.

I love a good NA V8, very sad to see them disappearing. Recently had the chance to take a W211 E63 on a trip to PA and thing is a riot, perfect executive cruiser, and the engine is just intoxicating.

Just had this new BMW ad pop up online. "Its just a grill" they say huh!
Seems like they are still trying to downplay it and tie it to their heritage to make it more widely acceptable lol
