I bought a stud kit and spacers from turner. I had zero issues. The turner spacers are cool and interlock in the stock hub and fit really well. I'd recommend those and studs to people who are going to see track time.
I'll look into those, not sure I'll go with them since I'm only doing probably 2-3 weekends/year for the next few years ... I'll take a look though. thanks!
I ordered mine from apex and all they had was black. I wanted any thing but lol. for me, the studs just make it easier to line up the spacer and wheel and hold it all up there instead of fumbling around with everything, but they aren't necessary.

if they aren't going to be available in time for my track day next month I'll need to go with anthracite .. but my wife requested black and she's been very supportive during this $4k track day bender so.....shooting for black although I can always plastidip them as well

david - what range of spacers in the front do you think would work? i'm going 18x10 et33 with ec7s and going to run 275/35/18 NT01 (or 275/40/18). another member above is using 10mm ... do you see fitment issues with either 5mm or 10mm front spacer going to wider tires?

thanks!

I don't think 275/40/18 tires would fit, they are too big in diameter at 26.65" when inflated. My 265/35/19 tires are at 26.3" and there is about 2-3 mm clearance to inner well at the lower rear section, at about 160 deg angle. About the same on the front side with 3-4 mm clearance. So, you'd have to go with 35 section tires I think.

my 275-35's are very close to rubbing the fender liners in front while turning. 40's will probably rub for sure.

do you think 5mm instead of 10mm wouldve been a better choice? trying to find where I'll have more room in case I get a tire that's on the wider side at some point ..

thanks!

5mm spacers in front with an ET33 wheel would keep you closer to the stock offset (ET29). You just need to ensure you have sufficient clearance with the front strut.

275/35R19 are confirmed to fit in front. 275/40R18 are almost the same diameter. What makes you believe they would not fit?

13mm closer to the fender liner will for sure hit. 275-35-18 is about as much as you can go. trust me, its close.

I will mount up a wheel tonight and snap some pics for you. With a 10mm spacer, the room between the inner rim and strut is very small. I can hardly fit my finger in there. I will do my best to get an actual measurement for you. I think a 5mm spacer won't give enough room.

I am not sure who and how it is confirmed that size fits, but I don't see how it would. I will take a picture of what I mean about lack of clearance and post it. It is possible that people are mounting those size tires and the car is just standing and/or cruising, they "fit," but I highly doubt it.

See this thread

Have a look at the pictures in post#76, it is a tight fit but it does fit .

haha i went and measured my finger with an iwanson gauge ... my pointer finger's around 7 mm thick .. i was thinking that you could probably get pretty darn close to the shock without a problem because during travel it shouldn't get too close but i guess during alignment adjustments maybe it could? i don't know enough about that.. kinda like (in my head) how small of a tolerance the wheeler-to-caliper gap is without an issue.

anyway - you don't have to go through the trouble for photos although it may be helpful for the other guys. it's hard for me to know which way to go it seems like everyone's making good points, but i'm guessing most people's input has fallen within the range of acceptable.

18x10et33 square with 275/35/18 NT01 and 10mm spacers in front ... final answer for me.

we really should get a sticky compile a thread of who runs what that has/has-not worked... lol. i really appreciate all the input here though ... thanks again guys!

Yes, in that thread it is very close, but I don't think he took the pictures from the correct angle; it does not make sense to me, but I am sure you are right. The stock tire's diameter supposedly is 26.6". Now look at the photo I took of my front R888s, their on-paper spec is 26.3" dia. and I measured it on the car, they are actually 26.3". There is a protrusion on the lower back end of the fender well, there is about 2 mm, may be 3 mm, clearance to that protrusion.

Make sure the post #76 OP's tires are really not rubbing. 0.3" difference is 7.2 mm, I am honestly hesitant to say (7.2/2=) 3.6 mm additional diameter will not rub.

Does this mean I can use my stock 19s for the track? I don't feel like paying 1600 for a set of rims I'm going to use on the track!

Hi David,

After having done a few track days with my M4, it seems like it would prefer wider tires in the rear. Do you have any plans in releasing an 18X11 EC-7 wheel with suitable offset for the F8X anytime soon?

Yes of course, but I think they are too narrow of a wheel, and the R888s and probably R888Rs are not very good in the rain to use them as street tires, I would not recommend it. It would be better to run RE11, RE71 or AD08s I think.

It fits. I just started running a square 18x10 ET33 Bimmerwold TA16 setup with 275/40/18 Goodyear Super Car 3's. I run a 10mm spacer up front.

It contacts the fender liner up front and that rear protrusion. Nothing serious. I just came back from a few events this weekend. No problems.

I have about 6 track days with this setup and it works great. Just remember to foil tape over the wheel weights so they don't fall off from the heat, and take the center caps out cause they will melt from the heat too.
Bumping an old post but wanted to get your thoughts. I have the same spec wheels but the VS5RS in 9.5+22 and 10+25, currently running stock tire sizes but due for new ones (RE71).

Any rubbing with the 265/295 combo and are you on stock suspension? And are you still using this same setup or have you found a better combo.

Thank you in advance!

This allows you to input all sorts of clearances and check. I think you'll have about 12mm of inner clearance on your front.

The rear I'm concerned about your outer clearance. 10et25 is already pretty aggressive. I fit 275 there a bit of room. RE71rs are very wide. I have a set on 295 on 11et44 and they fit okay. here is that comparison. 19mm extension out. That is concerning.

I will use oem 437M wheels in track. I need some advice, is it ok to use 275/30-19 tyres in front and 295/30-19 rear?
