[CODING] Missing CAFD Files

JUST coded euro MDM yesterday... Took it to the dealer today.. Updated my software.. All my coding stuff is gone and now I get the cafd files not found!!! GRRR!!!!!!

@IMrMark, IRC is a good idea. Violating the DMCA on a public forum isn't a good idea. it possible to dump the eeprom data from each chip (most of the are Freescale HCS12x) and remap that data against an older version of the CADF files and determine if anything has changed. I'm not sure how safe coding using the older definitions would be a single change could offset every parameter.

You do not need to dump the EEPROM data to know each FDL Function's memory address. The information is readily available in the CAFD file itself. But you hit the nail on the head. Using historical data from older CAFD files as a reference means nothing if the new CAFD is different. It also does not account for new functions added for which there is no historical basis.

I've just had reset issues with me Pro Nav HU_NBT unit,
the deal has fitted a new one but has upgradeed my I-Step to I001-15-03-501 and now I can't VO code 6NS / ECU coding )0:

Have tried getting hold of a copy V55.0 PSdZdata but cafd_00000ded-003_014_012 missing? is this the wright version? as it seems to be the same cafd file when was on I-Step I001-14-11-504?

can anyone help me locate a copy?

cafd_00000ded-003_014_012 was added in I001-15-03-501, It was not in I001-14-11-504.

It is also not missing from 55.0 PSdZData:

Yes, but mostly only for VO Coding, not FDL Coding, as this PSdZData has the CAFD files, but they are Trimmed.

Since they are trimmed we should still be able to FDL code if we know the position of the item we're coding right? Should we start compiling a master list of positions?

Losing all my FDL coding has been driving me insane. Folding in the mirrors manually has been the biggest PITA. #FirstWorldProblems

thats good news.. I think they are going to update my software next week when the car goes in for service.

Is there anything special i have to do in order to used the modified data or is it just load and go like it has been in the past?
