Build up layers of fiberglass/cf resin. That's about all you can do.

Really? But as I say it barely even feels indented. I’m wondering if the lighter colour is due to the now rough texture, caused by the impact. Surely polishing it would be worth a try?
Yes, the impact probably broke the bond of the resin on the cf mat. That's what your seeing with the lighter color.
