Spun Crank Hub

Hi
i keep hearing about people who say fixing the crank hub issue is essential but have never heard from anyone has has had it happen.
it would be interesting to find out how many australian examples we have had and what mods if any they had. also what they were doing with their car at the time.
cheers.

Poll here shows some data while not Australian data, there is nothing special about our cars.
1260 votes, with 125 reported spun crank hubs, about 1 in 10 cars, weighted towards the modded.

Data while limited seems to be pretty consistent eg:

2018 DCT Comp pack failure rates:
Stock 4.2%
Modified 450-500 whp 22.2%
Modified 500-550 whp 22.2%
Modified 550+ whp 50%

If you mod it, the more power you add the more seriously should consider doing it.
If you have a DCT and use the kick down feature often, might be worth considering.
Else it's pretty rare at 4% failure rate.
