KMP DCT Wheel - anyone install one?

This thread might be a bit preemptive, but figured I'd ask.
Has anyone installed a KMP wheel on a DCT F8X M3/4? Just received mine from Bimmerworld yesterday. Looks great, and the quality is top notch (paddles and buttons don't feel like they are off a cheaper sim rig wheel, which is nice).
Instructions are included, but they seem a bit vague and confusing. Perhaps once you start the process and see the OEM components it will make more sense, but until then I'm scratching my head trying to understand installation for this thing.

If anyone has installed one and has any input, please chime in. My hope is to hear that once you actually start the install, the process is fairly straightforward. I plan to put this on in the next few weeks. So I can report back with my struggles (hopefully lack of..) and tips for anyone else planning to do this in the future.

I just got mine yesterday for my 6MT. I'm sure the DCT is worse but I can attest to the instructions being confusing. It makes more sense after reading them 5 times and seeing the wiring on the car.

Glad to hear I'm not alone and it does make a bit more sense once you start taking things apart on the car - thanks!

I got the thing installed. Not as hard as it seems. I’m thinking the DCT install is the same as my manual is generic for Fxx cars. I took some pics so I can make a DIY if there’s interest.

I installed one on my GTS. As long as you are pretty good at “trouble shooting” and working on cars it’s easy. The only part of the instructions that wasn’t very clear was the last portion with the airbag. But I figured it out and had zero issues installing it. Make sure you’re familiar with depinning.

I’m not sure why they don’t just supply another connector with the wheel. Would make things easier.

Does anyone have a part number for the yellow/black airbag connector?

Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on the installation for me.

I received my wheel, trying to fit it to my 2018 M4 comp, managed fine up to the point of the bridge for the airbag.

I have removed the connector from the rear of the steering wheel control, what is the procedure from there on, it is rather confusing on the KMP instruction.

I was under the impression these were direct install, bit misleading. There is no real clarity on what to do with the floating wire from the KMP steering wheel, then the unpinning of electrics is another issue.

The pins are 2 stage so use a pick to release the first set then pull slightly and release the 2nd detent.

The long blue cable is routed down to the dsc switch next to your shifter.

so why'd you want to get rid of the driver's airbag?

Finally got around to installing the wheel this morning. Pretty smooth overall, but I will say the pics above from GuyLedouche were a huge asset. Helped clarify the rather confusing provided instructions, so big thank you for sharing those!
