Shifter sensor?
The post listed below is the only place I can see the exact problem I am having, no rev match, no gear indicator and no back up camera. My only question is in the first post he said that the fix was the “shifter sensor”. I have scoured the great lands of Google and found nothing. Any idea what this person is talking about? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Two Indy shops and a dealer later and they can not find a thing wrong with the car. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to add on to this thread
I had the same problem in my car after an mhd flash map, but I didn’t put the map and the sensor (23142283799) going into fault together. So I went and ordered a sensor because I started to have other issues with car (F/R vertical acceleration sensor) and the adaptive suspension went into a sort of fault mode and wouldn’t let me adjust it. Turns out the sensor had lost its adaption, so after plugging it in to ISTA and re-learning the sensor all was fine. I only placed the order yesterday and was informed that I wouldn’t be able to cancel or return the part. Being that it had only been a day and that the part was on back order for up to 30 days I thought I’d be able to cancel it, turns out no luck. So if anyone’s looking for a sensor get in touch either on here or probs best on Instagram @dylwestbury you probably won’t see any pictures of my car on there but plenty of me riding my bike if your struggling to find my profile |

Does anyone know precisely how the gear sensor 23142283799 actually works? It has 2-channels (3-prongs), but what are the channel states for each gear? I'm doing a retrofit of an F22 M2 45bz into an e90 335i (also 45bz). The e90 N55 45bz uses a "reverse switch" sensor mounted near the back of the transmission. The F22 45bz does not have this hole tapped, and instead appears to depend on the "gear sensor" mounted on top of the transmission, but I didn't get the sensor with the donor trans, so can't test it for switch open/close states.
Otherwise, the only options are to tap a hole in the donor trans and use the only reverse switch, or mount a switch in the cabin to manually flip the switch so the mirrors dip and the backup lights turn on. |
