Arcades stopped by Porsche DTLA today to deliver Eugene’s Nurburgring tee. Was hoping you’d be there by happenstance! 🤣

Couple shots. Even though I’m not getting an RS, I’m quite happy with the yellow! Haven’t seen it on a Cayman in ages.

I don’t need to be losing sleep over this. Over the excitement to get the car yes…over admin, NO!

Actually, I was going to go tomorrow or some time this week. I ran out of time today so I didn't make the trip over.

Still dealing with headaches, this one was more bothersome. If you are going to go in person to do the paperwork, let me know when I'll try to see if I can make it over.

So it had me resume an old draft and I don’t see the top part. Was supposed to just be the last statement 🤣. Haven’t decided yet. Probably electronically but I need to get my clears so if I have time it would be Saturday.

Update from rennlist is there’s nothing deal specific in the package from PCNA…waiting to hear from dealer what hold up is. This is pretty sore spot with the rennlist crowd. Especially those who have experienced BMW’s ED.

You'll need to ask Sean through the email chain w/ DTLA in it to make sure they get what they need to push your papers through. Just tell them you want to make sure your flights are locked in.

My family and I prebook our flight back to Taiwan, 3 months in advance. I'd get extremely nervous if I have to do it at the last minute. Not to mention the additional cost.

All I was told was, they are waiting on something from Porsche directly. Which they don't have yet, so it is either Porsche or the ED department being slow on something.

Flights are already booked (not just mine but my buddy who is joining me) and both Gerald and Eugene copied on email to Sean. Sean has hotel booked in Leipzig night before. All were copied on the German registration docs I signed too. If there’s nothing deal specific in the packet like 2 rennlisters have said, I don’t understand the hold up!

Edit: they also said they may not ask for the VAT deposit (thx to your connection ) but they haven’t confirmed that and I asked for confirmation but haven’t heard and I’m like do I need to or not bc I don’t want that to be the excuse for backing out on their end. It’s all very stressful.

Apparently manager isn’t in today so trying to get the new manager to do it. Didn’t we know yesterday or by midday today that the manager wouldn’t be in? It sure seems like they (management) doesn’t want ED to happen.

Does the dealership lose out on something with an ED setup?

It costs them apparently $5k paid to Porsche but they also get another allocation of similar or lesser car. But if it’s canceled at less than six weeks out, they are invoiced $2k from Porsche. But, if they cause this and think they’re getting me to pay that and to not demand the car at least at a big discount for all my costs and ruining my trip, much less if I even take it because of the scarring this would cause to my experience with it (looking at it every time and thinking about it all). What makes no sense is why it would cost them the $5k if the cancellation fee is $2k.

Probably some punitive assessments from Porsche for messing things up.

Right but it’s worded as something essentially charged to customer if customer cancels. There’s nothing if dealer cancels. I don’t know if they get charged the $5k and the $2k…if it were one or the other they may see the cancellation as opportunity to net $3k more.

The dealership souring the purchasing experience works in your favor when it comes to negotiation.

Except I already paid for the car! There was all sorts of easy and clear back and forth w screenshots from dealer software this is the total, sent wire, got confirmation wire was received. Just needed to do docs. They wanted to do in Oct for Oct deal vs September. I said okay no big deal. Oct 1…we need to close out September we’ll do it Friday. Friday 3rd we need this packet from Porsche for Ed. Confirm on rennlist there’s nothing in the packet deal specific. Then yesterday they say okay what’s the ED date. I’m like how do you not know this you’re on all the emails with PCNA…October 30. Then it’s well we usually do it 1-2 weeks out. And I’m like well tomorrow is three weeks and most rennlist guys say they do it 30 days out we really should have it done. They say okay docs tomorrow am. Tomorrow is here and manager is mia. Like what in the world!

I'm curious on how Porsche does their ED if they make it so confusing. From what I been told a few days ago, they are waiting on Porsche to do something because the dealer doesn't have the necessary stuff to actually do the paperwork for you. Despite the fact that everything is already set.

I am confused myself too so.

The paperwork apparently is all sorted and will be emailed to me tomorrow am. Manager Gerald who has done ED before and was Sean at PCNA’s recommended contact sorted it apparently. I’ll still have to wet sign a dmv doc on Saturday. So, we’ll see if the docs come tomorrow!

Did also get confirmation that Gerald is willing to let the VAT “slide for now.” Whatever that means. I’ll probably keep trying to verify that.

VAT is value added tax. Considering I have never done ED, I don’t know how it works for ED.

So that’s out of my league.
