I got response: "Thanks for reaching out. We do have these pads in the 08 compound in development but they realistically won’t be complete and in our dealers hands until late summer."

I just called and left a message. I would love for the PFC pads to be available before my 9/18 track day at VIR.

Keep the calls and email going to PFC to show your interest on 08 and/or other compounds.

There is a good option that should work just fine for those worried about material comparability and bedding issues.
For years i ran carbotech Bobcats for the street and
XP10 XP12 and RP2 for the tracks. I don't even bother rebedding after a swap. Hit the track and go. Finally settled on the RP2. When needed I can run the race compounds on the street and the squeeling is generally non existent or minimal.
I have done probably 80+ track days in this manner. Probably over 10 sets of pads. No real issues at all.
I find the street bobcats to be a very low dust pad as well.
Fyi they may not call them bobcats anymore but I believe the pad still exists.

Now I also use pagid greens or yellows on my Porsche gt3 cup race car, mainly due to just always running them and don't want to switch things up. I've been through quite a few sets and like them.

FYI. I may try the pfc 08s just to see how they preform on my new m3 when it gets here. If I can't get them, I'll grab a full set of bobcats and Rp2. I know the Bobcats won't dust bad but I bet the stock ones do.

Guys, I have a serious issue with RS29 durability in the front.
My rears are still like new, but my second front set is already gone.
The last set of fronts lasted just ca.5-6 hours of (net) track time!!
I am running square 285 micheling cup tires, stock EDC Suspension, SRF fluid. Map 5 JB4, so no crazy power. I consider myself an intermediate skilled driver, but surely have some flaws in techniques here and there.
The two tracks that I drive are Hockenheim and Eurospeedway Lausitzring. Both have 2-3 longer straights with 140-150mph top speed and hard braking.
I always make 1-2 cooldown laps at the end of sessions.
Am I applying the brakes wrong? Is the brake bias to much to the front with square tires? Are the tracks too fast and there is nothing that can be done about it?
I just find it crazy that I have to buy EUR 300 pads every 3rd track day! (by the way the Michelin Cup tires look like >50% after 7-8 trackdays)

It's been mentioned that you should be sure traction control is off. Are you running MDM?

I am getting 3-4 track days out of a set of RS29 fronts, which is horrible for a supposed endurance pad. On my E92 M3, I would get a dozen days out of a set of RS19s, and the pads wore more evenly front to back... This season, I'm on my third set of front RS29 pads, original set of rear pads, and they still have probably 3-5 days left on the rear RS29s.

I did add brake ducting a few weeks ago, and am hoping that provides better pad longevity, because it is beyond ridiculous now.

Btw, time to give up on the PFCs, as they said they would be out a year ago.

What is everyone's definition of a 'track day', i.e. how much time is spent on track? So we can make sure we are comparing wear correctly.. A track day for me is 3-4 20 min sessions in a given day - is that about what the norm is?

Depending on the club and track, it can be an open lapping day with all advanced drivers or 4-6 20-30 minute sessions, in my case.

On average, 5 sessions of 25 minutes is a track day for me. I am one of the faster drivers in the advanced groups, so I'm not babying.

edit: pads are always properly bedded. I have high hopes for the ducting adding lengevity.

I am running full off.
(However, I was always of the opinion that traction control was more of an issue for rear pads)

For me it's a total net track time of 2-3 hours split into 20-40min sessions depending on track and club

At least that makes two of us)

Please do tell how cooling works for you. Did you buy a kit or made something custom?

In my experience, DSC/MDM will use the front brakes quite often in anticipation of preventing an oversteer.

The latest from PFC is that there will be something soon, but no dates given.

Did you get to test your brake cooling setup at the track yet?

One day, yes. I believe I got about 1-2mm less pad wear, and definitely less pedal fade. So, it was cooling.

I have an event at a much more brake demanding track in a week, and will have a better understanding of how it worked.

Can you post some pics? Where do you draw air?

I posted some pictures in this thread, and I'm not satisfied with what I have now for the final setup for the intake of air. If you look through that thread, you'll see that Scott's car somehow was able to have a duct run from the front grills. I couldn't see a way to run the ductig there, and have scoops underneath. I may keep it that way, but with better scoops. Right now, that end of the ducting is what I would consider a hack, even though it is working.

If you do this, there are online aircraft supply places that sell the fittings for FAR less than the race shops sell the hosing and fittings for.

I am really tired of my RS29s, they fade when pushing the car at an advanced level. We need PFC to hurry up and release 08's for this caliper.
