The DCT is wonderful on track is the faster option. Too many people fail to understand the purpose of a CS.
Please, please don't say the CS is good to go track car coming out of a showroom.

What is the purpose of the CS in your eyes?

A dual use car, practical daily driver and track toy, with a bit more bias towards track use compared to the base or CP M4.

As with other M3/4, it needs very little to be track ready.

I would agree to that, still some configuration doesn't make sense to me.

You mean us CS drivers aren't delusional and think its strictly a track-only car?

Assessment is spot on. If I wanted comfort access or a center arm rest, there were some nice 430i lease deals I could have picked up...

O/P, wait a year or so to see how the values play. Almost every BMW that currently is holding its value has sat on the lots, discounted to move, prices dropped, but stabilized over time. Some exceptions of course, but not with any 3/4 series I can remember aside from the e90 M3 CRT which consistently sold for more that MSRP.

F-series chassis is still too "new" to make that determination, even with a DCT-only. Considering there are current BMW's with "auto" transmissions that have leveled off after 4 or so years after depreciation, you'll find out a year or two so it's best to wait.

The only 2018 M3cs I can find on cars.com is on listed for 93k (pretty much near what the discounted price would have been with the LRG paint and CCBs back in 2018) can you send us a link for your frozen blue? Would be curious what the going rate is for that.

But yet they have heavy power seats and a DCT.

I think the CS looks beautiful on the outside, but BMW made some head scratching decisions on the inside.
Agree! Such a beautiful car but weird specs as you said!

No comfort access but leather dashboard
Not to mention the rear sunshade. No armrest but a sunshade, so much for tossing weight.

Agreed, the rear sunshade BMW USA crammed in the CS’ exec pack did not make sense on a such a car. BMW Canada had more sense, the rear sunshade was not even offered on the CS here.

I’ll repeat it again, the center arm rest delete is about elbow room, not weight.

For those who want to track their cars I would go for the CS version otherwise you better off getting a CP package. Agreed the CS had better wheels interior and suspension but the CP had better stereo and comfort access plus armrest.

607 to be exact. There’s a sticky thread up top for reference on F80 M3 total production numbers. It’s probably well under 600 now since some had been totaled. Ask Andrae26
Lmao haha. I think I'm the first to total a M3CS. Still haunts me to this day seeing that beautiful SMB crumble up . I loved the car so much that I went and got another lol. I've been going back and forth about letting it go, I've decide to buy my lease out

What's the difference between an M3cs and CP stereo?

If i end up keeping this car, it's the 1st thing I'll rip out. It's such a useless feature to me because I rarely have people in the back seat to actually get to use it.

If i could code it to trigger based on lock/unlock it would be more useful because I forget it's there.

It was unfortunately a necessary evil, in order to get the ICON headlights, it's bundled with the HUD (distracting to me), and rear sunshades. I'm not sure what BMW USA was thinking, but at least I can't complain that the car was brought over, we normally never get these unique low volume models until the arrival of the GTS (relatively speaking of course)

Using the armrest comparison was poor (agreed not about weight) but the inclusion of a window shade was an odd choice. Oh well, that's BMW.....

Actually I've individually ordered the sunshade on previous BMW'S, It's pretty effective at providing privacy and cooling if you don't tint.

There are half a dozen or so CS listed on Autotrader. There was a FDB CS listed yesterday, but am not seeing it any more. I think it was in the $80k to $85k range IIRC.

I'm pretty sure the CS gets the same H/K stereo as the rest of the cars, with just the deletion of a couple of speakers in the doors..and without the H/K branding. So same heavy amps and such.

M3 CS gets the Harmon Kardon. I think it's the M4 CS that you are referring to.

ah thanks for the clarification!

either way, they left in a heavyish stereo for a part time track car, but they saved a few grams in deleting the radio antennas in the door handles for the comfort access lock/unlock.

If you don't track frequently, it's better to keep the ZCP which without a doubt is the better DD. In terms of value, all of the F-series ///M cars are gonna depreciate and the CS (and even the GTS) is gonna depreciate even more considering its ridiculous sticker price. These are no Porsche GT cars.

Depreciation is not measured from MSRP, it is measured from what one paid .
