Last BMW M4 GTS worth $300k!?
Even after purchasing my M4, for some reason, I keep perusing the various websites searching for others for sale.
Anyways. I ran across this and thought it was a little crazy and wanted to see what y'all thought. "This car is a piece of BMW History. This specific car is the LAST BMW M4 GTS to ever be built in the world. Of all 803 M4 GTS built this is #803. This last M4 GTS was a US-spec Black Sapphire model which entered final production on November 28, 2016." Does this justify doubling the price tag on an already overpriced car? Just curious what y'all think https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=268370752 |

They probably know they can't sell it at a profit anyway so might as well throw a hail mary and see if some idiot with money comes through.
If not, they can just lower it later. |

Just fishin. If art was the intention they shouldn't have put any miles on it, though.
They might get msrp. I'd like to track the hell out of the last GTS ever made, the M nerd in me would appreciate that ownership element.

A dealer near me had a GTS marked up to 250k when they first came out. I'm pretty sure it sold for under sticker. Another dealer even closer to me has had 4-5 come and go through their showroom, and this is a very small dealer. It may have been 2 of the same cars that were bought and sold back to the dealer very quickly. But I'm pretty sure every sale was at or below sticker, considering they were offering it to me below sticker out the door without me even inquiring about the price.
Weren't there only supposed to be 500 world wide originally? |

On the GTS, Porsche guys are surprised they can be had for $8xk, M guys imagine it's a pile of dung and not worth 135k. MSRP somewhere in between seems right.

Nobody wanted them at MSRP when they were new. They couldn't sell them then. Why would they want it it now at over twice MSRP and 4 years older? Thats great strategy.

How competent is the M4 GTS for a super experienced driver.
In my opinion the Nurburgring is not the be all and end all of track times as many fast SUV's, crazy HP sedans have all posted insane times. I think that track is fast and caters to high horsepower vehicles. On a very technical track is it a high tier car worthy of it's msrp? and for anyone who has driven it how raw is it? |

Raw, endless fun, fast as hell. Rags did hit and run reviews, bogus group tests, and everyone lost their minds. Apparently came to believe that the combination of track-focused GTS components somehow make for a slow track car, you know, quite unlike when random M3/M4 owners apply a suite of similar mods and gain numerous seconds/lap... It's imperfect from the factory for experienced driver and dedicated track use, but ideal with just a few mods. Does pace justify MSRP? (Reminder: Back in 2015-2016.) I think it's closer than most think. On a level with cars presumed faster around most circuits, particularly once you correct M's errors. (Those engineering errors detract from MSRP/initial value more than anything else, really.) There's the sub-100k American group -- Z06, GT350R, 1LE, etc. Through that lens, few German track cars justify their price tag. It's a combination of unique, special, raw, fast, fun. Certainly unlike any other M car that I've driven or that's hit the U.S. Like I said above, reasonable value is probably somewhere between current used market (what I paid) and MSRP, figure Cayman GT4 territory. But if you're an M fan and track enthusiast who is willing to mod a bit, it's fantastic. Re nurburgring, true, but that 7:28 lap is one of the few times that puts the GTS's performance potential into proper context, among a reasonably accurate group of peers. The Sport Auto test where it lapped within a few tenths of a .1 GT3 around a more technical circuit is another. Most of the others were nonsense.
