If no one else has posted this issue, then it probably isn't "crap quality".

Hmm looks like a crack is developing right at the direct gate in the outer lens. Maybe these were early trial parts before they got the molding/assembly machines fully dialed in? Most companies allow for late trial parts to be sold one way or another (minor model change lamp). Or maybe they're annealing processes aren't good enough....

How frequently is this issue showing up on here?

It would be interesting to put stress film over them and view with polarized glasses ... something seems weird.

Given AFAIK nobody else has this problem, possible explanations would seem to be:

(1.) Dude drives over some serious potholes and taillights are just the beginning.

(2.) Car assembly was done in such a way that puts stress on the housing that far exceeds their design limits

(3.) These particular housings didn't meet design specs

Definitely seems strange.

Heat / humidity could play a factor no?

ah shit, yeah that's probably the #1 candidate ... could be too many warm up / cool downs or warm up /cool downs too fast?

OP, can you put a time lapse camera on them for the next 3 months?

they actually have more cracks than I had initially noticed I only noticed the 2 small ones in the beginning upon closer inspection there is way more. they are kind of hard to see, easier to see when the brake lights are on here are some pics. also when you run your fingers where the cracks are its not smooth you can feel them.

Just noticed my left side outer lens had two cracks and need to pay a visit and see if they can order a replacement lens and get it swap out.
