So I'm thinking lease just gives you more options, if you plan to consider buying at lease end anyway. Here's one of many sites I used.

Finance Monthly payment at just under 3% interest on a 36 month finance:
$1138.59

Lease monthly payment assuming the terms in previous post:
$1088.58

Exactly why I would always lease then buyout if I wanna own a car

But how much is due at the end of Lease vs Payments after 3 years? I guess I could look up an amortization calculator but I'm lazy.

I would ask why would anyone pay $1100+/month for an M4 when you can get a $100K Carrera S for similar lease payment but I know the honest answer is to each his own. I love BMWs, always have and always will, but way they've climbed in price AND WEIGHT so much. Personally, my money, I'd be in a Carrera S all day. There are lease deals out there for $97000+ Carrera's, $4K down and $949/month +tax. Comparing MSRP's alone with the 911 and M3/M4, the Porsche is a bargain by a huge margin. My .02, if you've never driven a Porsche, go test drive one ASAP.

I would like to know where I can get a C2S for $949 a month. Around my area they are more like $1200+ and all the ones I see on swap a lease are even more than that. Cause in all reality if I can get a C2S cheaper than an M4 I have a lot of thinking to do.

36 months rates are out.

15k miles - 55%
12k miles - 57%
10k miles - 58%
.00130 Money Factor
X5 was in service so I figured id check with the guys to see status on the F80. Pricing was added sunday morning so they can build the preallocation pipeline with cars.

$77K
Alpine White (avoid metallic +$550)
Driver Assistance Plus +$1900
Exec Pkg +$4300
Full leather +$2650
Lighting Pkg +$1,900
DCT +$2,900
Adaptive M Suspension +$1,000
Power Rear Sunshade +$575 +$350 (side rear)
HK Sound +$875
Enhanced USB BT +$500

Notes:
*Cameras, Comfort Access, Lighting, M Suspension I think should be std on a 2015 M car! Even a car half the price!
*No Ceramic Brakes - My thought process: Tracked the 335i once since 2010, stock brakes had no fade (will need high temp fluid), and finally should I be tracking a $77k car that hard trying to shave tenths/seconds = no. Saves $8k, and avoid street noise. They "look" cool, but so does $8k in cash
*Options add up quickly. We figured out that for every $1k in options the payment increases $20/month.
*Will not be discounting
*Euro Delivery takes allocation from local dealer = doesnt make business sense for the dealer in these initial rounds.

F10 M5 for reference

Just for reference, have a look at some of the lease deals the F10 is seeing now. 61% residuals plus some cash incentives.

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=952567

"Monte Carlo Blue/SilverstoneII
MSRP of $103825 (exec, lights, 20")
$13259 out of pocket including NJ tax, bank fee, Motor Vehicle, all other nonsense fees, and 7 multiple security deposits totaling $7700. So actual out of pocket is $5559 and includes first payment; there is $0 cap cost reduction in the OOP figure. 36 months, 12K miles per year @ $1056.00 per month.

The monthly payment dropped to $999 and the OOP dropped almost $1000 with the March incentives/residuals."

Whatever left on the price of the car is due at lease end, in my case $38094 . Don't have to pay for going over mileage or lease turn in fees. And I'm pretty sure i'll be able to get at least $45k for a 3 year old M4.

C2S residuals are completely different so that $1100 estimate is pretty ridiculous. For measure, my 991 C2 is already more than $1100 a month.

When I was looking at the C2S I constantly got between $1450 - $1550 a month. I was looking for $1350-ish range, but couldn't get to that price point.

for $949 @ $0 cap cost reduction, you are probably looking at a close to vanilla 991 C2 with maybe one or two options

--

if you want a C2S I would look at used 2012s. If you catch the right one it's ~$85k

this is the best bargain imo; I just couldn't find one in time when I needed to pull the trigger

--

and also don't forget if you want to lease a Porsche you have to qualify for PFS, which means more than just a good credit score; you need good, established financial credit history. So a mortgage of 1-2 years or some other kind of documented debt repayment is good. I heard student loans actually help too.

if you don't qualify, then financing is your only option (or paying cash).

Yeah $1450+ is a long shot from $950. I'm sure I could qualify but I'm not going that high for sure.

Of all the variables associated with a lease, small changes in residual have the most effect on the payment.

Think about it - a 1 point change in residual (in the bad direction) represents an additional percentage of MSRP that you are required to pay, plus interest, during the term of your lease. So, if you are buying a $70,000 car, the difference between a 60% residual and a 59% residual is $700, which adds $20/month to a lease payment without considering money factor.

And in my opinion, a 57% residual on a 12K lease isn't that good. I had 61% on my F10 lease a few months ago, similarly priced car. Generally we only see residuals that low on cars with limited resale appeal, of which the M3 is not one.

I believe that BMW is gouging a little on these lease rates; I would wait a while.

Meanwhile, a 24 month residual for a 911 in the high 70s is astounding. But I'm not sure I've ever seen a 911 lease offer in the 900s in the wild.

The variables in that lease deal aren't terrible; it's just such an expensive car to begin with that there's no way to make a lease look cheap.

Right, the terms aren't terrible. It is the MRM. You are basically paying cash plus interest for every dollar above the $119,000 that drives the monthly payment up so much. I was buying from day one, but decided at the last second it would be less stress in my life to not actually own a $135,000 car. That was until I ran the numbers.

I'd have to own the wide body turbo Porsche or no Porsche. Even if the non turbo cars were $400/mo lease. So I roll with turbo bmw's for now and enjoying boost!

This is an awesome thread!
