I believe the rivets you are pointing out are the places where camo body panels used to be affixed (as above). After all, what do rivets in the front and rear doors have anything to do with a wider fender...

I am not an expert in production or development timing or duration, but if the M3( or M4) Coupe is already being tested, doesnīt that mean the M3 could be ready as soon as the coupe goes on sale? Or is such a decision more market/marketing based?

Another question i would have is this: it is a foregone conclusion that the 3 series coupe/convertible will be renamed the 4 series. But doesnīt that mean giving up one of the most prestigious and longliving names in sportscar history? How will that be marketed? I know the M3 is far more than itīs name, but it is still a big step in my opinion.

As we've said before, the production mirrors will not only be sportier (see how the F10 M5 production model's mirrors are much sportier than the test mules'), but will not get a huge blinker.

Any blinker on the F30 M3's side mirrors will be much more subtle, something along the lines of what's been seen on the F30 3-series -> see http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=572795

love it

they need to make the rear end lower and flatter. the one thing i disliked about the e92 is how honda accord the rear end was...fat and up. needs to be lower and flatter.

So this sedan is a parts tester. Why bother putting on M3 front, onto a car that won't be produced?

Looks like the extra hump is part of the wider front fenders. Either way, it looks amazing! If this isnt an F30 M3, I hope its a available Performance version w/ wider fenders we can buy in the states!

They're probably testing the aerodynamics, cooling, etc. of the F32 front end with the new powertrain under the hood.

Lets hope it gets the green flag for production, because even in all this camo the car looks mean, now we just need to hear more about that engine
+1!
100% correct ... this car is never ever an F32 testmule ... its an real F30 M3! To my infos the F32 as 4er is so different from the F30 that it make nil sence to test components in an F30 ... and the different engines were tested in E90 testmules. Look at the difference between 5er and 6er!

There are rumors that BMW/the M-GmbH could have completly changed their (in)market strategy ... since E30 the M models cames into Market as last model, this meen after the convertible ... but this could have changed with the F3X series and the division in 3er and 4er models.
The rumor says, that the new M3 could come much earlier than anticipated ... this meen even before the regular F32 4er hits the market ... late 2012(?) as F30 M3 ... one indication could the relative early out of the market time of the E92/93 M3(!) ... it seems like BMW has adopted the MB/AMG Strategy to bring the sportmodel short after the base model.
THIS could also meen that the F32/33 could be labled as M4!

At risk of offending, I think BMW has a lot to learn about how to design a sedan. Compare this to a C-class or an A4, cars that are far sexier and sportier. It's hard to get excited about these photos with a car that looks like something you'd find on a Buick lot.

Just like the 1M Coupe , additional body panels are attatched to the car by unconventional method. However unlike the 1M the camouflage covers the arches to accomodate the wider track . The 1M if you remember just remained exposed.

Time-Lines for the M3 will remain the same a year after initial F32 launch.
An M car is not a car that can be hurried. When you think about the changes between an M car and a regular E92 you can see why like fine wine an M needs a chance to mature. Or else you end up with an RS5 or C63 AMG - looks to be the same bottle but an with inferior taste.

This car is the about the size the m5 should be, not much smaller than the e39. I hope they don't increase the weight any from the e90, but BMW keeps going bigger and bigger for some silly reason. Alot of camo, but the car looks sexier than the e90 imo.

I see what you did there....

I am equally excited to see if the F30 M3 will actually make it to production, I also find it strange to see BMW testing a supposed F30 M3 before any sight of the F32/M4.

So far, I can't tell anything different from the E9x series. Very evolutionary design.
