Rear fenders look a little cartoonish (or Pontiacesque ) IMO. And still single-caliper brakes . And no hood 'bulge'. And no V8 sound. Other than more power, which I don't personally care, nothing to get excited about IMO. But great news for the turbo fans. I'll never own a turbo sports car, so will keep enjoying my NA V8 M3 until it makes sense. At least 2 more years, then will have to think about it due to no more warranty. Good day folks.

I sure hope the powertrain has some character and is responsive....... I will be buying a 6MT F80 if that is the case.

Man, that car is looking very sexy.... better than I thought.
Gee...... I normally don't buy cars near the beginning of their model cycle... but this car looks tempting so far. And I may like the sedan better than the coupe this time.

I personally believe the final production model will have less flared venders and not be so extreme in order to keep it in the "higher end" class of their cars instead of the boy-racer 1m crowd. It will definetly get more refined in shape.
I personally won't say I would never own a turbo sports car. Technology is great and just because turbos have and still are lacking in several key features, it does not mean they will not get even better and fix the things its currently lacking. Never say never. They have had a lot of practice with the xM's, then the M5 which is now improved and the 1m which has great throttle response. I think the m3 will be pretty darn good turbo or not. Personaly I need to have the latest and greatest so although my v8 m3 is amazing, It will go at lease end in 3 years. I will be looking forward to seeing the R8 replacement from audi. That will be my next car if it comes out in time. |

Like the F10 M5, none of the spy shots contain a carbon fiber roof. Will this be exclusive only to the coupe M6 & M4?
Maybe BMW will offer it as a 'carbon package' or CSL-esque special edition with ceramic composite brakes and carbon fiber roof in the future. |

I hope that is not the hood we get on that car. I hope they make the hood a bit more aggressive with power dome and functional air vents.

I may have missed this somewhere but can someone explain why this is an F80 and not an F30?
