I think the coupe looks nicer. But the doors on the sedan will make easier to get into and out of. And just like the E90/E92, I am sure they will drive and perform the same so it doesn't much matter.
Cheers.

[QUOTE=yemenmocha;15189079] M3 looks better than the M4 to me. Even without kids, there are occasions when a 3rd adult or 4th needs to be in your car. Maybe if you're truly a hermit then the practicality advantage is moot.

I agree with some of the reviewers, that M3 looks comparable to F30 M Sport, I was thinking the same the other day. It doesn't have to mean that everyone else must think the same. Most commentators keep singing on how M3 is better because of flares.
In reality this might be a red herring for: 1. I have a family now 2. I need 4 door car because I have kids 3. My wife won't let me buy 2 door coupe 4. Thus M4 must suck, M3 is such a beautiful aggressive. Reminds me of married people who tell single folks how life is good; in reality secretly wishing they were single. Let's stop this bantering between M4/M3. If you like a particular car/model, there is no need for others to agree with your point of view, nor should you feel that way in the first place. If M3 is the most beautiful car you have ever seen, so be it. Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. |

Coupe vs. sedan (again)
Not a bad choice between the two, but BMW considers the coupes to be their sportier offering. Rear seat in the coupe is usually more comfortable than the sedan (once you get back there) because they are more contoured. Those that think the sedan looks better seem to concentrate on the rear fender profile, but to the designer in me the cleaner greenhouse sides of the coupe with the frameless doors, along with the sleeker roof profile and C pillar seal the deal. I also like the taillights on the coupe better than the sedan's notched ones. How many prefer the sedan based on this comparison?:

I don't fit in the rear seat of a 4 series without leaning or crouching (6'), but there is plenty of headroom in the new 3 series sedan.

I like the sedan but next time around it would be a coupe. The problem with the F8X for me is it just does not posess enough additional power vs the E9X for me to purchase one, things might change when I finally get a test drive.

M4 is without a doubt sportier on side comparison, also better looking taillights, trunk,.. GC would be the best solution to all these points |

The subject was overall best looking. That has many aspects. I was just trying to point out that those considering only the rear wheel arches are missing a lot of other equally important (IMO) aspects between the two.

I get your purpose clearly. My response to filip75 was due to his statement about the ///M4 being sleek.........as though people have/had tried to argue that the M3 sedan was a more sleek ///M car. I think the rear arches come up so often - and rightfully so - because the rear quarter of the M4 just looks drab, boring and uncharacteristic of an ///M3.
