Throaty Start-up Exhaust Sound

I might be the minority here. I like the throaty sound from the cold starts a lot. However the car makes the sound only when the engine is quite cold (e.g. only after the engine has been turned off for over 2 hours or so). My car is 18' ZCP with MPE.

So, instead of turning off the Cold Start option from bootmood3, I've turned on the GTS Startup Roar option, hoping to have this sound during every singel start-up, whether the engine is cold or hot.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to make any difference with the GTS Startup Roar option (when running the OTS Stage CS+ tune) from the stock tune (i.e. no tune).

Do you get the throaty start-up exhaust sound every time? How was this achieved?

Thanks.

The GTS roar only seems to sound loud and impressive once the car is already warmed up

Put it in M1 or M2 and blip the throttle before starting it

Switch ignition on (without starting the engine)
Press sport +
Then start engine.

Roar like a lion having a shag.

thx everyone. i always change the throttle setting to Sport + before i start the engine. the rpm would reach around 2000rpm when the engine is warm but it doesnt make the throaty sound i am looking for.

however, regardless of what throttle setting the car is at, the throaty sound is there when the engine is cold.

You have to tap the gas pedal quick to get it to open the exhaust, just pressing the button does nothing until you do that

Op it's a lost cause. Car sounds beast for the first 30 seconds than goes back to sounding like it's true nature. I have a full exhaust. Something about skipping the cats I think may have to do with sound idk

I know exactly what you're talking about.

This doesn't happen on a full cold (say starting the car after a night in the garage), but it happens when you start the car after 2-3 hours after visiting the shops for example.

I can't confirm for sure but I'm almost certain that this is the wastegate not being fully heated up and so when you drive off it produces this raw exhaust sound. This does not happen on the normal/zcp map but only happens on the GTS/CS map.

It's also why the CS/GTS sounds different (noticeable deeper) to the competition/normal map under throttle.

To my knowledge nothing can be done here - just the way life is

What if you set the exhaust flap open with BM3?

GTS starts up roar only shoots the RPM higher upon start up.

The throaty sound you speak of is the cold start. Unfortunately when your car is warm, the DME won't activate cold start because your cats are already warm.

I've only ever heard of people wanting to delete cold start because its loud. I've never heard of people requesting for coldstart cycle at every start up regardless cold or warm engine.
