Drivetrain Malfunction P0303 code
Posting this experience to help others in the future as more F80s are runing out of warranty.
Car: '17 M3 6 speed 37k miles This is the first issue the car has ever given me. Here is what happened: It is a beautiful sunny day in Mexico, so I punch it on a long on ramp. I hit about 80-85mph and the idrive display shows the 'drivetrain malfunction' error with a CEL on the dash. Car seems ok but power is definitely diminished. I pull over at the next safe spot and I can hear the engine misfiring. Turn the car off, wait a moment, turn back on and all seems fine. No misfire, no CEL. As I accelerate again the error pops up and I lose a bit of power once again. I drive home, no noticeable noises or misfires noted. When I pull the code with my generic reader there are 2 codes, both P0303 Next AM I drop the car at the dealer. Dealer says there must have been a misfire issue in cylinder 3. Replaces plug and coil. Clears CEL. So far all seems ok. Will report back. Hopefully the fix was that easy!

I looked for the code and the solution is an injector replacement. The dealer must solve this in no time!
I hope you don't have anymore issues in the future. |
Appreciate
