Yup spun mine only 3 weeks into my e30 tune. Now that vtt spline hub fix is being placed and unsure if I want to go ahead with my Cary Jordan full e85 tune.

E85 gives an amazing amount of torque which would cause the friction plate to give way and timing sprocket to spin!! But with the VTT full solution we really shouldnt have to worry 🤷🏽*♂️ |

Design was updated over a year ago, and is very aggressive. Zero failures with the current version. Hundreds of splinelocks out on the streets and track, run 'em hard.

Yes I haven't heard one slip with your design which does make me feel at ease a bit more. My fear is did the initial slip cause any damage that can't be seen that's where I think our mental block is. I'm also seeing a lot of the NGK plugs go to shit which would have to be gapped and installed.

If the valves kiss the pistons you'll see this reflected through appropriate testing (leakdown, etc.). Quite often we've seen slips that don't require other significant engine work to repair, I'd go so far as to say most of the time, but of course depends on many things.
