Driving is a passion ... you are by yourself 90% of the time... treat yourself a little you deserve it.
I only feel that way when a dude in a turbo s for 180k drives by... otherwise pls keep the P car.

Today I got rid of my 911 base, which was awesome, and got my hands on a '15 metallic black GTS. DEAR GOD! The driving experience is incredible. The power. The M3 is crazy, too. Just different. I'm still breaking my F80 so.....

You should get a Cayman GT4 and lease whatever is out. Camry, Fusion or etc. Probably cheapest option in the long run.

Between the two my vote goes to M3. But I'd say get a Porsche Macan. Just go test drive one and you will realize it's an awesome daily driver. You can see the M3 is almost as low as my R8.

Objectively it's a better performing car...that's a given since I can't think of a performance car where performance didn't move forward from a previous generation.
Subjectively, it has a lot of things I wish were better...of course this can be said of many cars as well. But there's a few things that truly don't sit well with me.
I just have not found the car as enjoyable as I would have hoped.
As far as being tail happy, yes it is. It has good front grip (not great but better than other Ms), and not enough rear grip given the close to 500 hp and torque the car is putting out. I just wish it were a bit more planted without so much throttle snap oversteer. Would be nice to be able to get rid of the auto rev match in Sport mode too since Sport + the throttle is too short.
I get the situation completely (I was the same way about my previous car.. an E89 Z435), and where I'm coming from is that if you don't love your car, you gotta replace it. You spent 991 money (i.e. $89k) for your car and that sucks if you don't love it.

Personally, I think the "snap oversteer issue" is really that the PSS get greasy quickly (ie 3-4 laps) and there is a lot of torque so you have to be more patient with the throttle (i.e. tire change and driving style change)

EDIT: Porsche Macan.. lol 328 performance for M3 money.. fail...

Don't HAVE to replace but certainly that is the plan. I have been contemplating everything from a base 991 to a 991 C4S and everything between, but hard to decide.

Macan S is pretty fast (ET is about the same as an M235 6mt). Performance of that car for an SUV is astounding and certainly great for the price. The X4 35i can't match it in any measure and also costs only ~1,000 less in base price or with options. Plus the Macan also looks damn good to boot.

I was not a believer until Porsche made me drive their Macan Turbo on the street and on the Auto X course. The crossover does roll but it is way more of a drivers car compared to the 328 not to mention a better daily driver. If you don't believe me go to the dealer and just try it. I hated SUV before driving the Macan. PDK is also lighting quick.

Thanks! I bought my speed yellow on a whim and let me tell you, it really grew on me. That's it in the background. I must warn you, unless you're getting tint, expect folks to stare, point, race and touch your car. I recall almost daily seeing cars in my rear-view mirror switching lanes to get a better look and mine was a base.

991 911 holds any color very well. You'll be good no matter what you choose.

True.

Those wheels on the GTS are fantastic. Such a sweet car.

Where on the east coast are you? Tri-state by any chance?

Have you driven a Macan S or Turbo? IMO, they are a more engaging drive than a 3 or 4 series.

Yes and i would rather have my old e90 328 with sport package and 6mt than a macan s.

On top of that with just a few options macan s is a $60k vehicle with no discounts, which my euro delivery m3 was also $60k.The rear cargo capacity is small for an suv. You've got to really love the porsche logo to get macan, imho.

I would rather get a base cayenne (which i've tracked at mosport ddt btw) since at least the cayenne is an honest suv with a lot of cargo room.

For a small hatch I'd go gla45 or golf r

I get these suv exist to mint money to pay for the sportscars. And i get "for an suv" the macan is great. But yea "for an suv". 3500lb car is enough of a compromise for me. 4100lb + cuv is too much compromise for me to swallow

Edit nice 991 posted a few post above
