I've had both, 330d and M3.
Admittedly the 330d doesn't have the punchbof the 340i, but it was torquey and pretty quick. Even if I added a bit more power to that one, it still is nothing like the M. The regular cars are way softer and roll more. More understeer. The steering is softer and a bit more rubbery. The regular series are quieter and bit more compliant suspension, but not massive difference in ride quality. If you are asking, I would get the M, as long as not too much more expensive and within budget. |

Yea, it's a mixed bag sometimes! I had one that was definitely targeted for the Lexus SC crowd!
