The plugs are actually every 3rd oil change or so.

Costed around 700$ to change at the stealership here in Douche land.

Good input.

How does it drive better? (serious question, I'm interested in your thoughts)
The suspension feels stiffer, it feels more planted, more controllable and is a bit smaller in size.

Interesting. The F80ZCP, in my opinion, is pretty darn stiff, especially in Sport/Sport Plus. It's by far the stiffest M3 built to date... very hardcore sports sedan.

If the M2C is stiffer it would probably be too much for me as I find the F80Z already on the edge.

The F80Z is also the most planed M3 to date, so if the M2C is even more planted that's pretty amazing.

Makes sense that it feels smaller... it is smaller.

That's all my opinion though. I do drive these cars back to back and that's what I usually feel when I switch. M2C is a harsher ride though than the ZCP in sport+ everything.

There are a lot of M2C's out there and with less options available you don't really need to special order. Find one on cars.com that meets your spec and you should be good. I've seen a couple at the local dealership that weren't taken so I don't think the demand on the M2C is similar to what the OG was. Probably because it's a bit more expensive than the original. Personally I'd get an M2C over the M4. Same engine, slightly lower weight, same 2-door inconvenience, at a cheaper price.

We should be comparing Comp cars only.. not a Comp car to a base car. Who's buying a non-Comp M3/4 today, anyway?

40 less top end horsepower, less sophisticated chassis/suspension, no CF roof, shorter wheel base (not as good for high speed stuff), not as premium an interior... but, a good bit cheaper.

To each his own. Personally, for me, the M4 became less desirable once the M2 got the S55. The same day in/out inconvenience of 2 doors and my guess is their performance is almost identical on a track. Some like the long look of the M4 whereas I like the stubbier look of the M2 and M3.

Yep, I bet they are very close in terms of actual objective performance. And I get the stubby look thing... that's why I choose the M3.

But I'm just saying.... once behind the wheel of both cars (M2C and M4C, same transmission), will the relatively watered down M2C feel as good as the full-tilt, flagship M4C? Are there notable compromises to each? Does one do something(s) better than the other?

As with most things, the devil is always in the details and I think it's reasonable to assume that BMW paid more attention to those details in the M4C.

- throttle mapping
- power delivery
- power output
- EDC mapping
- ASC mapping
- diff mapping
- chassis rigidity/tuning
- suspension geometry/balance
- ride quality
- interior quality
- etc., etc.

Could be wrong, of course.

So I went to two dealership this past weekend and got quotes on an M4 for both financing and leasing but non were compelling. Too expensive to be exact. I was hoping to get like 10k off of an 80k M4 but I guess that's not that feasible these days on a MY19. Based on further research, the M2C is heavy for its size and doesn't have the convenience features the M4 Comp has. So I'm torn even more. I may just keep my 17 GTI until the G82 M4 comes out in a few years (though I really love the exterior of the F82 M4, not so much the interior). I feel like purchasing/leasing a new F82 M4 at this point in time is just a waste of money. I tried to find a used MY18+ M4s but couldn't find the one I want.

The major deal breaker for me was the the fact they wont let you do an individual color on the M2 comp.

I could forgive the M2c shortcomings if they let me spec a Daytona violet on Amaro Brown full merino interior M2c.

edit: I would also say that buying a m2c right now is a dumb financial move with the M2CS or CSL right around the corner. Updated pics here: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...x7ElZgN1UAl48E

CCB, and a carbon roof that has clearly been wrapped.

I'd save the money and look for a good 2015-2016, competition package really doesn't mean anything if you want to tune the car. I drove the models back to back and couldn't tell any difference between comp and not.
Wait hold on. You mean the ZCP doesn't make it a completely new car?

I'm been busting on the comp pack for years now and I'm ordering a 2020 with it. Haha.

OP. Just lease a 2019/20 M4 and wait for the next generation to arrive. It will be perfect timing when the lease ends to pickup the next ///M.

Don't forget the hood. Love the hood on the F8x. The hood on the M2 comes straight off a 230i.

I'm deciding right now whether to keep my F80 M3 ZCP or purchase a M2C. My E39 M5 is about the same size as the M3, and the Z4M coupe is obviously a 2-seater, so the M2C would slot right in between them.

I'm going to drive a colleague's M2C and see what I think.

Certainly deals are to be had on 2019 M4s...below invoice is not hard to get.

Do you think it's possible to get 10k off of 80k for a lease on a 19 M4?

I was in the same boat as you my friend, I went to dealerships around North NJ to spec and order a M2C and got to drive a DCT one (was looking for a Manual). Let me just tell you that if you are a bigger lad then you aren't going to like the M2C I'm 5'8 stocky build and it felt like my old Subaru BRZ in size, that being said on one of the dealership visits I saw a CPO M4 with all the options I wanted (manual, carbon fibre everything, etc) and under 20k miles and I pulled the trigger. Couldn't have been happier. Hopefully my experience helps with your decision.

Don't get too hung up on the size. Yes, the F80 is big... but it's mostly just wide due to its massive fenders. The base 3 series that it's based on really not that big of a car. Not small, not big. It is a long-ish car, yes, but this gives it immense high speed stability.

Plus, the F80 weighs hundreds of pounds less than your E39M and will absolutely obliterate it in every sense of the word - dramatically faster and better handling/stopping. It drives much smaller than it is because the chassis is tuned so well.

Drive a ZCP.

I have a ZCP; it has been my DD for the past three years. Certainly much faster than my E39 M5, but I still enjoy that car more...

Ah, sorry, misread that. My bad.

Edit - I've always love the E39 M5 and plan to own one someday. Timeless beauty from the E46 era.

Off topic, but the S54 engine only requires a valve adjustment with Inspection II, every 60K miles or so. I don't drive my Z4M coupe often, so I had the adjustment done at 25K miles for no particular reason. I think it was $400.

Not sure about $10K, but likely possible if the car has been sitting. I was offered a $77K 2019 M4 for $70K with ZERO negotiation, so...

Honestly, if I wasn't a die-hard MT fan, I'd pick up an M3/4 CS. Crazy deals going on.
