New owner and question for replacing the distilled water in the reservoir
Hello guys, I just bought un brand new GTS, only 73 km on it, really excited with my purchase.
I just got 1 question which I did not find the answer on the internet. As this car has nearly never been driven since the last 6 years, I am thinking about to replace the distilled water in the reservoir, but I did not find any information about how to do it, as I dont want to break something and not familiar with this water injection. Do you guys think it is necessary to replace the distilled water in the reservoir in this case ? And do you have any way to replace the water, we need to disconnect the 3 connerctors and pull out the reservoir to replace the water ? or is there any other way to do it ? or bring it to dealer ? Thank you guys. ![]() ![]() |

Welcome! Nice to see another Canadian owner
![]() I’m sure there’s an easier way, but you could always siphon it out with a long tube.

Congrats on the purchase! Personally I would certainly drain the tank and fill it with fresh water as you never know what someone put in there before you, even with the super low miles. Fortunately removing the tank is very simple, I posted about it previously here: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=33

To pull out the outlet water line, do you have a picture zoom in which indicates where we need to push in with the bouton ? As I looked at that connector, but afraid to force it in a wrong occurring the damage. Thank you! |

By the way, to change the stone filter, any thread with pictures attached to demonstrate ? I search also, look like people talk about it a lot, but not really have some pictures to show the step by step? Sorry for my question again and again ~
