~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello all,
Recently picked up an individual 2016 Estoril Blue II F80 M3 from Carmax and wanted to start my build thread. I know.. why would anyone order a basic M-Sport color on an F80? Well the answer is.. because Estoril Blue is awesome!
One of my first encounters with M cars in general was back in high school, I used to see an Estoril Blue M3 sedan driving around all the time and knew I wanted one of those when I grew up. Well here we are.. 20+ years later and I own one, I can honestly say.. this is definitely a dream car.
A few of you might know me from my past build, which was an Estoril Blue II F31 wagon, this build went through many sets of wheels, and actually ended up in a few magazines (Superstreet, Performance BMW, PasMag), below are some pics:
I took a break from BMWs for awhile and was having fun with my 2000 Integra Sedan build, this car had a K24 swap and Spoon parts, was fun while it lasted but I definitely missed having an M car, below are some pics:
Anyways, onto a few pics of the car we're all here for.. very excited to begin this journey and share the build with everyone, feel free to follow me on Instagram: Oem_Nub for more content. Below are some pics of the stock car, and will update this soon with mods!
-2016 EBII
-DCT
-Carbon Roof
-513M Wheels
Good looking Integra! What were the specs on the K24 motor? How much power did it make?
K24a2 with RBC manifold and a RSX Type S throttle body. I actually never got the chance to get it custom tuned and dyno'd..
No need to justify Estoril Blue - it’s a heritage M color although some newer peeps don’t realize it.
Love the meaty tires
Agreed! I still like to mess with the people thinking I converted an M-sport into a F80 M3 though.
First mods! Had to dechrome the car so I got the oem gloss black front and side grilles. This was a PITA trying to fit my arms in there.. lots of battle scars. Also ended up getting the OEM red start button that lights up white! Some pics below.
Wow! Your F31 build is epic. But man, that Integra 4-door with the JDM Type-R front clip in Spoon get-up looks amazing.
And I love the EB2 F80.
Excellent find! I like the blacked out look for the grills I have them on my EBII F33. So much better than chrome look IMHO. Just need to get the IND painted front reflectors.
Funny that people think EBII is a M Sport color as it was a M only color to start and a lot of old timers weren’t happy when it became available on less than M cars.
I definitely classify Estoril as a M heritage color, one of my favorite cars in high school was the 4dr E36 M3 in Estoril.. so getting this car was like coming full circle for me. I've gotten a few comments about the car being a M-Sport to M3 conversion.. but mostly positive comments about how great EB2 looks on a F80, it just hits different.
Been awhile! The car has actually changed a lot but I thought I'd update this with a few modifications at a time. Today, we'll go through the lowering process, I decided to go with KW Clubsport 2-way as the suspension of choice. I went with KW because I believe in their product, I've had KW V1's for my EB2 wagon and never looked back, the mix of comfort and performance was just right. I expected the same from the club sport setup, and also loved that it came with camber plates up front.
KW Clubsport 2-Way Coilovers for F8X M3 / M4 : SKU 352208BB
Also, if you're in SoCal, Evasive is the place to go for all of your tuning needs, they also do installs, alignment, and tuning! Onto the pics!
Test-fitting some TE37's, both sets are 18x10 +25 squared setups. I believe I have 12mm spacers in the front and 5mm in the rear.
Ended up rocking the black set and redid the white set in eve gray (which is for sale).
Just a photo dump of the car lowered on the flat black OG TE37's.
Free bump. This makes me really appreciate OG black TE's, with the stickers. I was also surprised how good the white looks.
Either way, very nice and clean! <3
Future plans?
What size were your tires on the white TEs? I'm thinking about going with a similar wheel specs.
if you're looking for 18's, they don't clear the OEM f8x brakes. you would need to find some older specs in 19's.
