Arm bmw s55 midpipe upgrade - 3.5" resonated **new product**
HIGHLIGHTS • Up to +20whp / 30wtq • Improved Exhaust Note • 304 Stainless Steel • Faster Turbo Spool • Fits OEM and Aftermarket Mufflers PROFILE Introducing the ARM Motorsports S55 Single Midpipe Upgrade for the F8X platform, the ultimate solution for S55 enthusiasts seeking to enhance the power and sound from their S55-powered BMW. This S55 Midpipe upgrade delivers improved exhaust flow and an incredible exhaust note due to the resonated 3.5" design. Check out the clips below to hear the ARM S55 Midpipe paired with the ARM S55 Resonated Downpipes. CONSTRUCTION Crafted from 304 stainless steel, the ARM S55 Midpipe Upgrade is built to last. Its mandrel-bent tubing ensures smooth, unrestricted flow, while the lightweight design of only 17lbs reduces overall weight of the exhaust system by 15lbs. When paired with the ARM S55 Track Exhaust, you shave an incredible 40lbs off compared to the OEM exhaust system. The ARM S55 Single Midpipe starts at the downpipe connections with a precision Y-pipe. This allows you to connect the ARM S55 Midpipe to any downpipe upgrade that fits the OEM S55 Midpipe, including the ARM S55 Downpipes. This section of the ARM S55 Midpipe includes a 4.5" resonator to tune the tone of the exhaust into a deeper, more desirable range, as the S55 is notorious for having a high-pitched, raspy exhaust note. Paired with the ARM S55 Downpipes, the ARM S55 Midpipe will make your F8X one of the best sounding on the road. The next section of the ARM S55 Midpipe Upgrade transitions again to a Y-pipe, which allows you to reconnect your OEM muffler. This Y-pipe connects to the single midpipe with a slip-fit connection and then utilizes the two 2.5" pipes included in the ARM S55 Midpipe Upgrade to extend to the OEM rear muffler section, or to the ARM S55 Track Exhaust. Due to the larger size of the ARM S55 Midpipe, the OEM under-brace cannot be utilized. To address this, the ARM S55 Midpipe includes a specially designed under-brace that is specifically engineered to fit with the larger midpipe. The under brace included in the ARM S55 Midpipe Kit is designed with precision and manufactured from 6061 aluminum to ensure strength, durability, and a perfect fit, while keeping the weight to a minimum. Installation of the under brace is a simple bolt-on process and mounts directly to the factory mounting points, ensuring a secure and stable fit. IN THE BOX • ARM S55 Midpipe • CNC Machined Brace • 5x Exhaust Clamps FITMENT GUIDE The ARM S55 Midpipe Upgrade will fit any downpipes that connect to the OEM midpipes. Make Model Submodel Engine BMW F80 M3 S55 3.0L BMW F82 M4 S55 3.0L BMW F83 M4 S55 3.0L ARM MOTORSPORTS LIFETIME WARRANTY Every ARM Motorsports product is backed by a lifetime warranty which is automatically issued at the time of purchase. Your warranty protects you against any defects in craftsmanship. The warranty entitles you to a replacement unit.

I think this is the only single midpipe that comes with a resonator. The price seems more than fair as well. I don’t see a whole lot of reviews for this midpipe since it’s fairly new. Any problems with fitment or overall quality? Thank you.

The difference is that the resonated AA midpipe has two resonators, located in each of the connector pipes instead of one in-line resonator.

I just installed the ARM midpipe this past Saturday. I sent ARM an email with some issues I had with install and have yet to receive a response. Sounds great, I bought the system directly from them...

I ordered this midpipe and also plan on installing it myself. Do you mind sharing what issues you ran into and if you had to modify anything to make it fit? Thanks in advance.

I don't want to post the issues as they haven't responded, the email went out this past Saturday, same day the install occurred. I'm giving them the opportunity to respond.
Send me a PM and I can share those with you.

Ok here it goes, hope this helps everyone out or provide what you've encountered during the install process.
Sect. 1 is the most forward section that connects to DP with resonator, sect. 2 is the mid-section that has the bracket/Y section and sect. 3 is from the Y section back to muffler. 1. Section 1- The exh. hanger is not centered, it sits back a little from the OEM bracket/hanger. The bracket/rod that holds the exhaust hanger in place doesn't have a half washer or a slight aim downwards to prevent exhaust hanger from sliding off, my hanger doesn't sit all the way in and its outer edge sits inside hanger. Could have been designed better, not sure if it's an issue for you guys but to me it is. I guess I'll find out. Section 1 piping prior to resonator is visible underneath the car as its piping radius has slight downward path before it goes up into tunnel to resonator. My issue is that it sticks out below the tunnel and if your car is low, it could pose a problem with speed bumps, HWY debris or those tall curves at the track. It's not tucked into the tunnel like it should for clearance. Sect. 1 piping sits close to the right side of the tunnel (passenger). Once this section is aligned and tightened with DP there are no adjustment whatsoever. Section 2- The mid-pipe section past resonator into the Y, fits closely to the passenger side tunnel, it doesn't hit or rub but its close. No rubbing or rattles. Bracket section - It hangs too low for my liking, it's a little overboard plus if you track the car and you get off track or go over those aggressive curves you could smack it on a lowered vehicle. This could have been easily resolved if the section 1 was tucked/centered into tunnel to provide ample space/clearance with a less aggressive bracket. Section 3- Fit with no issues, pay attention on how much you cut. if too much it will pull muffler/tips lower away from rear CF bumper valance, if not enough, it will push muffler/tips up closer to bumper. Also, it will affect how far the muffler tips will stick out and side to side tip evenness. My exhaust tips stick out a bit further than stock and sit a little lower. Keep in mind when the exhaust heats up, it has a tendency to grow back so your tips will stick out father back then your used too. I'll be going back to the shop for some final adjustments on section 1 hanging and rear muffler tips issue. Overall- Build quality and welds are nice. Exhaust sounds amazing with minimum resonance inside the cabin and a nice rumble. You get minor resonance when RPM's hangs a little prior to each DCT shift in sport/sport+(1-3 gear). At cruising is quiet and exhaust opens up around 4500-4800rpm's with a light rasp on top of RPM, not like some other non-resonated DP/mid-pipe exhausts you hear. I paired the ARM mid-section with ARM resonated DP's and OEM muffler. I sent ARM two emails with pics and received no response, great customer service they have... My .02 c.

**Update: ARM replied, and they are revising section 1 with a revised midpipe bracket. Once I get the replacement, I'll post an update with regards to fitment.
