Litchfield Stage 1 and Hub Fix
I know this has split opinions but I am concidering getting a stage 1 Litchfield map and at the same time getting the hub fix as for £375 fitted which again I know not overly required but for the money and my car being in its final year of warranty it seems GVFM in my opinion.
Wanted to ask if anybody has had this done as yet and any thoughs?

Here's my opinion, FWIW.
Crank hub. Why bother if it's fine? BMW know the issue. Spin the crank & they'll sort it, weather in warranty or not. UNLESS YOU TAMPER WITH IT FIRST! Maps are all personal choice. For me, (having used several map vendors in the past), why anyone would get anything other than BM3 on these cars really boggles my mind. It's the total (proven) package. Spin the hub after tuning? Go to BMW still. You haven't modified that part of the drivetrain. Remember, Evolve's M3 spun its crank (tuned) & was repaired by BMW. Which really set the precedent.

I have heard of them refuse to do it under warranty on cars that have been tuned (or even suspected of being tuned). |

I am not sure but very pleased with the service and for the price I think you may have more come back due to the size and scale of Litchfield, in my opinion that is.

To be honest. The service and skill set at Letchworth is amazing.
I had it done no problems at all. Well, one problem...... i now want a map doing by them. When i was there they had an M4 that had spun, the whle front end was off. It was a sorry sight. Said it was 2 days work to retime and drill and pin the crank for the new hub. |
