265/35/19 and 295/35/19 tire size? Michelin PS4 vs Conti ECS
I have a 18 ZCP, originally came with the 666 20" rims. I feel that's a bit too heavy and bumpy. About 1 year ago I bought a set of Vorsteiner VFF 103 19" rims. The set came with very skinny tires Michelin PSS (245/35/19 and 265/35/19) which was originally mounted on M2.
Anyways, I felt it's more nimble but definitely lost some traction on the rear. Also, I feel that above 80 MPH there's a slight vibration, which somewhat bother me but never try to get it rebalance. Now, my rear tires is almost toast, the front still has ~4-5 /32nds. I am debating to change out all the tires. What would you pick? 265/35/19 front 285 or 295/35/19 rear Tire choice is either Michelin PS4 or Continental ECS. Would like to get feedback from you who has similar setup. Stock ZCP suspension, no aftermarket drop. My #1 and #2 goal is quietness and handling. Yes I know this is F80, who cares about quietness... For the front, it seems like 265 is a safe bet, 275 may have a chance to rub? For the rear, 285 is the same width as the 666 20" rim, but I think 295 should also fit and has a tad more sidewall (which could be less bumpy?) Then of course there's price, PS4 is like ~$300 more for a set, does it worth it over the Continental ECS which also seem to have good reviews? Both seem to be relatively not too harsh (compare to Michelin PSS which is what I have now and before). |

Take the MPS4S over any Contis, they grip better. Since they grip better 265 with 285 will look right. Go a notch fatter if you need more straight line grip, but not if you carve curves. 275s up front are only needed for track grip, and can be hard to fit if lowered on HAS.
