Uploaded photo of minor curb rash looking for peoples thoughts.
Is this easily repairable by any qualified wheel specialist? I have the black 666M wheels and I'm worried about the smoke clear coat and repair making minor rash more noticeable by enlarging the affected area. Finally anyone have any recommendations for central Texas area reputable shop? Wish me luck will post finished photos good or bad eventually if I pull the trigger for repair. Cheers Edit: found guy who claims to have done these wheels before and color match smoke clear coat working with local bmw dealer, appt thurs will post results. |

Maybe I'm not as OCD, but if that were the first rash on the wheel I'd probably wait to accumulate a couple more before getting it repaired.
Good luck anyway and hope it comes back like new |

You might be ok with sanding it down in that spot and applying a clear by hand. |

I had one repaired for an even smaller nick than that and that wheel is noticeably lighter than the rest. I wish I just left the wheel alone.
I have another wheel with damage similar to yours and I just took a gray marker/pencil and dotted over the lighter areas and put a clear coat on it. It's still noticeable if you look for it but unless you're inches away you don't even notice it. Give it a few days and you won't even think about it anymore. I know the feeling though. I must have spent a day searching for options before eventually settling on my pencil/marker hack. It suffices.

I'll clarify my ability to procrastinate is much greater than my OCD...
this happened well over a year ago. Will ask the guy to weigh it before and after as I'm curious about the "weight savings". 😂 It's rear tire so not worried so much about feeling a difference. But I will grill him one last time when I drop it off to make sure he puts his best effort into it. |

Good luck. Take a clean pic of the front and rear wheels together. That's where you can really tell the quality of the match after.

1: Before photo; hard to even see the damage due to poor angle but it's around 1 o'clock
2: After Photo, wheels in same position as original photo impossible to tell even with naked eye 3: up close you can see new "angle". But color match is good and hard to notice unless u know what ur looking for. Overall glad I got it done. Now time to detail and get these pain in the asses ceramic coated. |
