Rear brake pad replacement

Rear brake pad indicator came on today...
I'm assuming I need to change them ASAP!
Should I do front also?
Any recommendations as far as sites to purchase from and any additional parts I may need. And pricing range if possible...
Any info is appreciated

You should also do fronts if your rear pads are gone. You can get hawk/stoptechs at tirerack or get OEM replacements at sites like ECS tuning.

Ok thanks so I'll get all four done... but quick question sites like these are no good? And are these sites priced for sets or individual?

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...brake+pad,1684

https://www.bmwpartswholesale.com/oe...ds-34218099354

Thanks again in advance for your help!

I haven't used those sites. The pads are typically sold per axle (good for two wheels). The front and rears are different in size, so the price reflects that.

Ok thanks again I appreciate the heads up... so no additional parts like sensors or anything are needed right?

Might want to change the brake fluid if you are due for that service or coming close to it.

This states that the sensor should be replaced each time you change the pads. I couldn't find info on this site if the sensor could be reset via the software or not.

I bought from bmwpartswholesale.com for my E92 before. Works just fine and came quickly. Since I didn't change the pads in almost 10 years (54K miles) I swapped the sensors, rotors and the e-brake shoes as well. Was out in NY so hardly drive during a big chunk of that time.

Thanks everyone for the info but I'm in the midst of ordering and now ran into a little confusion... this is my first M car so I'm constantly learning...
Bought it used but now wondering if I would need to get ceramic brakes or not.. how do i know what's currently installed... I heard my calipers would be gold if I had ceramic... is that true?

Yes, you would have gold calipers and your rotors would like ceramic rotors.

Plop your VIN into mdecoder.com and see if it can help figure it out.
