Nice, I guess 100k sounds good to me, thanks for posting. Do you drive your car hard, or track it ?

Yup! Unknown number of autocross events and several track days.

Synthetic oils and components of today cannot be compared with those from a decade ago, the mechanics were in the past trained to replace oil every 5k miles or sooner who learned from teachers that were taught the same. If I have to replace my DCT after 220k miles who gives a sh*t, almost nobody drives their car for so many miles. Don’t exaggerate with these unneccessary fluid changes people but do as you please. I drive my car for 5 years and then buy another but keep this one as 2nd car. But al I going to use my current car as a daily driver? Absolutely not so it does not really matter to replace the DCT fluids every 50k miles. Proof me wrong! Replace it and capture some and send it to a lab for analysis and show us here how the oil looks.
I am just one example but I have 205,000 miles on my 2013 X5 and never changed the transmission fluid. So far I would call it "lifetime" fluid. No problems yet, the transmission has always run great.

i just did mine at 20k miles. i track 10 weekends a year and had 40 track days on it. i do fluid flush 2-3x the service interval . so oil change every 5k , rear diff at 25k, etc. got the kit from FCP euro, $400 for labor at the dealer.

car feels the same, less buckling on downshift , it's probably too early, i could have waited till 30k miles.

.if not tracked change at 100k miles. rear diff at 50k miles per service manual. this Getrag dct is well known and well built.

Just had my transmission fluid changed at 47k. (6MT) $320 w/tax at my dealer. I could've done it myself but it's a peace of mind that it was done correctly. $320 every 50k or 5-6 years isn't so bad whatsoever.

I am probably one of the few M4 LCI DCT owners creeping up on the 100K mark. My 2018 (bought brand new) is at 91K. The transmission has given me zero issues but I figure 100K might be a good time to do it, anyone else surpass me and handle fluids differently? I'd love to know.

2018 m4 base 6spd - Canada lease

Bmw dealer changed my diff fluid along with engine oil ~40k Kms part of included maintenance plan. I bough oem bmw tranny fluid from them and changed it at the same time but not at the dealer. Was going to do it myself but I had a scheduled alignment at a shop near by and as the car is up anyways we did the tranny fluid as well.

I track the car and wanted fresh fluids everywhere, no noticeable improvement as there was nothing wrong to begin with.

At dct cars bucking or jerky downshift from 3->2 i found is because clutches wear. A new set of clutches and my car downshift very smooth. The old clutch pack have wear. Not slipping at full throttle but have enough wear and too much play inside basket.

Good to know, I am also in for a DCT transmission oil change. It seems the local garages are not keen on performing it, since its quite a painstaking procedure (DCT temperatures are very important with oil change). After oil change, oil level needs to be balanced with ISTA correct? Which DCT transmission fluid do you guys recommend? (OEM or MOTUL?)

I recommend only oem oil. Also on this dct an oil change not solve any jerk problem. My first oil change at 100k km oil look almost same as the new one from the bottle. At dct if the oil look dirty this mean your clutches slip.
