Well, it’s about time. Always love the V1, but some of newer detectors have much better range and sensitivity.

Trade in value of original is $110... but you can still sell them for $300+

posting my v1 online this weekend. i had it hardwired with the bluetooth module last month.

my last two speeding tickets were too random to prevent, radar wouldn't help, but waze/google would have (maybe).

Got my V1G2 yesterday. Its a GREAT upgrade, I don't mind the loss of the knob since I adjust the volume once then never touch it...if you like to tweak the volume like my wife does, you will miss the knob (thats what I said )....but this is set it and forget it.

Laser seems more sensitive if you can imagine that on a V1 but still falses to the iDrive touchscreen in my F80 so just did the electrical tape mod to cover the laser areas and all is good (was hoping perhaps new filtering of the laser channel would stop that but alas). Ka range as good as my Uniden R7 (but this new V1 is MUCH faster at scanning the Ka Band so presumably milliseconds faster at I/O Ka which our locals have FWIW) and laser detection on the V1 is still picking up the iDrive touchscreen...Go Mike V! Trading in my 2003 V1 that has saved me at least 10K in tickets over the years for a second V1G2...these guys just know what they're doing.

I was on the list and received two last week! Haven't set them up yet.

I look forward to improved tech from Valentine! I run the V1s together with Waze and Waze fails more than half the time because the officer has already pulled someone over so they've moved positions.

I do long trips all the time and every time it saves me from multiple tickets. So worthwhile

Anyone find these detectors useful in NYC or surrounding areas?

My dad got a ticket for going 41 in a 30 on northern Blvd in queens recently. They are installing thousands of speed cameras across the city. They will send $50 tickets without points to everyone going over 10 mph over the limit. This is when technology starts to suck.

speed cameras are the worst. In Europe they have zillions of them.

In the US it seems like people are successful challenging the cameras and getting them removed

I use my V1 with all bands turned off except Ka, as I find Ka band does not have false positives

Gen 1 is still one of the top 3 performers out there...

MD, but the second generation Valentine is Spectre III immune. Not sure about the Spectre Elite, though.

anyone else having issues with the laser alert going basaltic?
used my gen2 for the first time today and received one false laser alert, then the radar went full tilt when i pulled into my garage.

my car is not equipped with parking sensors or lane departure but i did have the BimmerTech front/rear cameras installed.
