Well, I guess we'll all wait and see what actually happens here.

I have one on order (still quite a while from production) and while I want it now now now!! If I'm honest, the currently expected January delivery isn't that great (learning a high perf RWD car in calgary in January is prob not the best) so I will try to be philosophical....or patient. Or something.

Maybe I'll just drink more....

Damn, I guess I got real lucky! My car just finished production yesterday, I have the cf roof, black 19s, and the active suspension.. Now I'm kinda worried, cause the bmw website doesn't specifically say cf roof or sunroof on the build! Fingers crossed.

It won't show CF roof on build. Only moonroof shows on build.

So what will happen to my ED order? I already have confirmed dates and booked all my accommodations already?

Well, thanks to the original poster and everyone else for giving us this information. I just emailed my CA asking him to confirm. If he confirms that production is delayed until January, I'll probably cancel my order. Thanks everyone.

I'm in the same boat. I imagine worst case, we would get loaners out there and they would ship the car when its finally done. Thats pure speculation though.

Gasp. I will miss the sunroof on my 335, just sold today.
FWIW, I would guess January is conservative. And ED orders should be sacrosanct.

I wouldn't be surprised. There is a good amount of inventory at dealerships configured with various options that most people don't want.

Yeah and now no dealers are gonna sell under msrp. Its a real bummer. If im waiting that long maybe its worth waiting for a 16.

Hmm, do you know when they shift into 2016 production?

Thanks, then I'm either keeping my current build or going for the 991 Carrera S.

what makes you say that?

Edit: I misread your statement. Read it as if Jan was an optimistic date.

They're tagged as "Priority: 0-Tourist Retail" on the vehicle status sheet because BMW knows delivery is a larger commitment with expensive travel plans attached...and a $ mess to unwind if something goes wrong.

If they start cancelling EDs you know there's a real problem with the parts stream.

This is freaking depressing. I sold my GL 450 3 weeks ago and have been driving around a rental car that smells like an ashtray.....

I would personally wait a few weeks and see if anything changes. Maybe there was a slight hiccup in supply? It seems like something BMW would be scrambling to fix if there was going to be a three month supply deficit
