RS7 vs F80 M3

Early morning greenway run vs RS7 from the dig up to 130 and it was neck to neck. A tune in my M3 should easily beat the Rs7 but I have to say it looks ugly but that V8 sounded great. This car supposedly is putting down 550 hp and tq... Impressed with power of the RS7 just can't stand the looks.

You sure he was racing? Doubt a m3 is taking the rs7 from a dig, they're monsters.

Not sure how you were neck and neck at all from a dig given the power and awd of the rs7.

Agreed... the RS7 must have been playing, didn't have the car set up correctly, or didn't know how to drive

The RS7 is a 3.5s to 60 car but, more importantly, is a 123-124mph trap car whereas the M is 119-120. Fairly big difference. The RS7 should have gotten you from a dig and would have been pulling at the 1/4 mile mark. If that isn't the result, he wasn't doing something correctly. Now add a tune and it's a different result but, even then, the RS7 is almost the same or faster. A JB4 Map 1 car just trapped 122.71mph. Still lower than the RS7 had been trapping!!! They are monsters and similar to M6s.

Agree with others. The AWD RS7 with 560HP and 516 lb-ft of torque is a fast car! motor trend reported 0-60 mph in 3.2 second! RS7 is the competitor of E63/CLS63 AMG S and M5/M6 and none of them are even close to RS7 for any racing from stop; however the rolling race might be completely different. And yes I know M3/M4 is much lighter than all above cars but their power/weight ratio are higher than M3/M4

The RS7 is a beast.

To be fair to the E63 though, that was the RWD version.

The E63 S 4MATIC has ripped off several 3.3-second 0-60 times.

The E63 S 4MATIC Wagon/Estate is also the fastest Estate car in the world (fastest 1/4 mile).

Perhaps he messed up from the dig and I also lost traction 2nd gear but it was as close as it could get... It was fun and yes the RS7 is a beast no doubt.

Agreed with unfair competition (AWD vs RWD), but as far as I know according to motor trend, E63 AMG S 4MATIC can go 0-60 in 3.4 second (0.2 second slower than RS7) and both car can catch 1/4 mile in 11.6 second; however MB has higher trap speed.

Also I'm not sure if E63 S 4MATIC Wagon/Estate is the fastest Estate car in the world but again according to motor trend (you can search result of World's greatest drag race 3 over youtube) this car can catch 1/4 mile in 11.7 second 120.4 mph! I'm wondering if RS6 Wagon has better numbers since it has the same drivetrain RS7 has an almost the same weight!
Have you ever watched this video? Look at the 1:11 and the ranking. RS6 is in 4th place higher than SLS AMG Black series, 458 Spider, R8 V10, GT-R,... However it's 1800 meter race and not 1/4 mile.

It's pretty hard to mess up the dig in an RS7. Just mash the gas and go.

The RS7 destroyed those 2 cars, neither had traction problems so AWD was not the only factor. I did not see either catching up either. Audi is known to under-estimate their HP numbers, I would bet that is the case with the RS7.

I just wish the RS7 was a wee bit louder. I just drove the Panamera GTS and WOW that cat can purr. Probably the most mean sounding car that Porsche makes.

Did it look like this LOL (sorry for the big pics)... I have only driven an F8x a few times but never owned. I do own an RS7 albeit tuned now (traps close to 130) so its hard for me to recollect how it felt stock but in an apples to apples enviro the RS7 is faster. From a dig its a no brainer as the car is mash and go with no skill needed throttle wise. But on the street there are often mitigants which can change the outcome. Nice run.
