I hear you, the M3 was always on my bucket list and is the reason I went with it instead of a S6 ironically

But that s6 4.0TT v8 with some mods... Gosh, one day haha. Maybe we can trade

For over $100K you can get a M4 CS with the new LED taillight, why settle for a regular M4 when you can get the CS.

S6 is a great car , but different than M3/M4
I have both at present time and love to drive both
the whole idea behind leasing is you avoid depreciation hit, and by terminating the lease , you are negating the advantage of leasing
if you that bored with S6 , get a used M3/M4 , because your new M4 will depreciate by another 15 k the moment you drive it off the lot

I love my M4 ZCP but I can't imagine it being worth more than 100K

Do your S6's brakes squeel like crazy? I had the big 400mm brembo brakes on mine and that was the main reason I got rid of the car. In the first year I had it I changed the pads and rotors in the front every 3-5k km. The last rotors I bought i sent off to a company to get them drilled, those didn't squeel for 20k or so. If your's doesn't do this - keep it until you're not underwater on your lease as it's a great car.

I had considered chiptuning mine, you can easily pull even 550hp out of it BUT I decided against it when I found out that the RS6 - which uses essentially the same engine and produces 560hp - does not use the DSG transmission but a regular one instead. This suggested that the DSG was unable to handle the 560hp the RS6 makes reliably.

Yeah, I hear you. To me the car is fast enough, I'd just get a nice exhaust system, wheels, and carbon fiber bits. In my experiences, the less non-cosmetic modifications the better. I got to the point in the past where I would avoid driving a car because I just didn't want to troubleshoot CEL codes anymore. Just got over it and stepped up to a faster car, and I've enjoyed every bit of it. My tuning days are over.

Anyways, not trying to thread hijack OP, but let us know if you end up buying the car

Haha, Thanks.

I think the general consensus has been pretty clear. The rational and logical decision of staying out the rest of the lease and possibly getting an M4 in the future, likely the G82 M4

The S6 NEEDS an exhaust - it sounds castrated out of the box. I removed the middle mufflers on mine to give it a bit more growl.

Ended up negotiating a better deal, I paid off the negative, and now I'm driving a new M4!

It was important for me to not go in upside down on this deal - that was the only way I was going to do it.

Thanks for all the feedback!

-28k negative equity from S6 is horrible. Is it better to pay all the remaining payments? Even your monthly payment is 1k+, if the remaining time is no more than 28 months, payment is a better option to get out.
