Pure Turbos?

Hello! So right now I am full E85 on an otherwise stock f80 m3. I have been thinking about turbos for a little while now. I do not want to do Meth or PI with the turbos. Would turbos still be worth it despite the car not having meth or PI? I would run 93 with the Pure's instead of E85. What do all of you think? Would it still be worth it to get a pair of Pure turbos? Or should I just stick with my stock turbos and stay full E85. Let me know! Thanks.

Why wouldn't you stay with E85 once you did the turbo upgrade? You'd really be leaving a lot of power on the table if you have access to E85.

You probably make 550+RWHP now. You'd probably make 550+RWHP with Pure stage 2 on pump 93. Or you could do well over 600 on e85...

Because E85 with turbos requires Meth or PI and I just don't want to have to deal with that stuff. Although I would love to stay E85, just won't be possible on stock fuel system with aftermarket turbos.

It’s possible with stock fueling system I know Justin at AutoTalent runs that.

I’m considering the switch myself from 91 currently on PS2’s+ turbos

With the pure turbos on 93 you'd be making similar numbers to the stock turbos on E85. I dont think an extra 20 hp would be worth the investment.

That is the main reason why I want some upgraded turbos. Different power delivery, more power up top till redline.

You can run e85 and pure turbos without meth or port. You will be a little limited on power/boost up top, but totally doable.

Agree. But he will also find his power is limited by fueling with the stock LPFP on Pures and E85

dont understand why anyone upgrades the turbos on these street cars. Even stock turbos stage2 tune is too much for 305 michellins on the street. Its just spin city with over 600whp

Which one is better to go with? Meth or PI?

Sounds like you need a properly configured tune/tires/wheels/suspension/alignment setup. You can start by switching to a softer rear sway bar to help improve straight line acceleration.

Meth really should be used for cooling, but a properly configured WMI setup can help squeeze an extra 30whp +/- with meth serving as supplemental fuel.

Look into these products if you're looking to upgrade the fuel system, however:

https://www.eospeed.com/products/cop...ake-manifold-2
https://vadersolution.com/products/v...ge-3-fuel-pump

It should be capable of supporting up to 1100whp with 95# injectors.

My power goal is 650 cause I don’t feel like upgrading the clutches etc. for ideal reliability beyond 650-700.

I might as well rebuild everything if I go above that

You can hit 650whp with stock fuel system and 99.9% meth. I've even seen north of 670whp with this fuel setup.

The BMS stealth meth kit is a popular choice, and arguably the best ready-to-go setup available for the F3x/F8x.
