Yup. You can go to codemycar.com seeing as your in the tristate area. There is a lot more cool stuff you can code in/out as well.

Can't be done without coding. Invest the $20 in a cable and do some research and you'll be able to do it yourself. I did all the coding in my car and it is awesome!

Or maybe just wear your seatbelt?

Now if this is just for when you are sitting in the car I can understand but why would you even think about driving a high performance sports car with no seatbelt on?

sometimes I just wanna move a few blocks to park the car or what not, it's so annoying and loud there is no other option but to wear the darn seatbelt as I can't code anything otherwise my warranty is void

Wear your seatbelt. It takes all of 5 seconds to put on?

Who told you that you're warranty is void if you code a seatbelt chime? I coded my car even before my 1200 mile service and have zero issues regarding warranty or service work

BMW Tech here: Coding won't void your warranty, and is undetectable by ISTA. We, as techs, don't know or don't care.

You can turn down the chime volume, but agree with always using it though.

Like you say going from a parking lot or moving it around in the driveway, it is annoying. Plenty of coding folks on this site within most areas. Worth the cost if you are not sure of yourself doing it.

You can turn it down to where you almost can't hear it. Pretty nice!

Have you made any claims yet? Company's don't really care until you make a claim and that's the time you have issues.

There are thousands of BMWs that are coded. They are not going to deny a warranty claim for something that is already available in the car.

Coding should be day one mod. Euro mdm, led dazzle, never mind the seat belt chime that my dog sitting passenger would trigger... Snappyphoenix might be confusing coding with ECU tune in terms of warranty grey area @ dealer.

DSC ON = SAFE
MDM (USA spec) = a toe over the line near death
MDM (Euro spec) = a leg over the line near death
DSC OFF = Death

If you plan to track your car, you want euroMDM to keep some safety short of going full DSC off. Some prefer off.. to each there own.

Don't tell them what they will never know.
Tons of dealers sell used BMW's that are coded and they don't even know they are selling them coded. Think of your dealer as the local DMV/POLICE/INSURANCE company all rolled into one, they really are not looking out for you and just want your money. Tell them as little info as possible at all times.

coding is harmless options toggle for the destination country the factory is sending the car, they can be toggled endlessly and don't effect anything in a bad way.

I've never coded my car for two reasons.

* Worried one day I make a warranty claim and BMW say, "Hey, you have played around with the car's software, declined!".

* Or if I mess something up myself trying to code it, can you end up doing more harm than good as you learn the ropes of coding yourself and is there an easy way to put everything back to default if you decide to clear any mistakes you have made along the way.
