I'll try to do it tomorrow.
Here's how I did it on my e93:

(1.) Figure out where you want to mount your v1, do it, and plug in the long v1 cable

(2.) stuff the cable into / under the trim around the windshield, down the a-pillar, down the door trim. It's really very self explanatory

(3.) Plug the other end into the Savvy and stuff the extra cord behind the OBD

It takes 10 minutes if you break for a beer in the middle

Escort Passport Max - love the features on it, including how so many known speed traps and speed/red light cameras are all preloaded from the factory... just bought it a month ago.

+1 for Bel STi-R

Haven't gotten a ticket since I installed it
GPS lockout memory and traffic cam notification are great features to have...

So I have always wanted to try a V1, bit to quiet it down requires a lot of activity. Savvy, constant phone connection, reprogramming under European settings...

The arrows seem awesome but.

I was thinking that the V1 is like the Crossfit of detectors. Kinda cultish and you get side eye of you don't use one .

That said, they have great range , and awesome KA detection.

I swear officer, they're just parking sensors!

But, what about those dots on the bumper? Aren't those parking sensors, too?

Well.... I swear officer! Just parking sensors!

I think I'm leaning towards the Redline personally. Many of the cops in FFX City area are getting more and more tech savvy, I think they're gonna know what's up with a jammer, especially when their Laser is saying "On target, but no speed!" I would love to get a custom stealth install for the car though.. man that'd be sweet. I'm just not sure I can see the full benefit just knowing how the politics are around here. Or maybe that's the exact reason to try to do it?

I had V1 in my last m3 and just did the K40 with front laser jammers! This is the best mod ever! Love it and highly recommend for this car.

My Ferrari's previous owner installed the BEL Sti-R + Blinder HP-905's and it's the most amazing system I've ever experienced. This thread has me thinking it's a good idea for the F80 as well...

The complete kit from Escort is $1,999. That's $1 cheaper than you thought! Plus installation of course.

Laser jammers only work for cops that don't know what they are doing. I had LI and tested with a friend who's a cop. Had them mounted right on bumper, and when he aimed there it works, but all he had to do was aim towards roof and he got an immediate read of how fast I was going.

Don't cops almost always aim for the front plate or headlamps to get a quicker read? A good jammer system would be most effective there.

And to answer the OP's question: I used a 9500ix (hardwired) in my E93, which I intend to continue using in my F82. The V1's lack of GPS lockout features (and as a result, the constant false alerts) make it a no-go for me.

to start, but they can quickly aim elsewhere as soon as they realize they are being jammed

In many areas one speeding ticket can cost this much. My STIR+ has probably saved me thousands over 3 years.

I had an Escort 8500 on my E92 and it saved my ass many times with Ka band. The only 2 tickets I got in 2 years was with a laser. Once they laser you or come out of nowhere pointing that thing at you you're fvcked !

I'm going to have to get a laser jammer next time on the F82 or a complete kit but man it's expensive...

A lot to say, but I'll keep it short and sweet:

Choose one:
o Valentine 1, with V1Connection
o Escort Redline
o Beltronics STi-R+

If in Virginia or DC do not choose V1, choose one of the others. What's the difference between these? I'll let you do the research. The answers are easy to find.

As for laser jammer consider these in this order:

1) AntiLaser Priority (4 heads should be enough)
2) Laser Interceptor (4 heads)
3) Blinder HP905

Also, consider using Waze on your smartphone if you can mount the smartphone where you can see it.

Cheers.
