Drove a Tesla Model S Performance last night for around 40 minutes. The straight line acceleration is insane from 0-75mph then it tapers off pretty quickly. I would definitely buy a Tesla but not performance its a waste unless I just wanted straight line performance (I don't), the autopilot is really good much better then I suspected (compared to all the other lane assists its in another league), handling is ok no where near M4 territory but ride is supple, steering feel is horrible anyone who complains about M4 steering go drive a Tesla its a flat 0 for feel, and brake feel is bad too (its and EV so I assume its IBC like all the other EVs and the 8-series). Tesla lacked soul but was amazing as a commuter, and the autopilot and straight line accel were insane.

Hopefully I'll get to try the RS6, that car is definitely the most appealing.

Might be worth going back to try a Model 3 Performance. It's not as fast in a straight line (though 0-60 in 3.0 seconds ain't exactly slow) but is a far better car overall and is an ideal DD.

I hope the rs6 doesn’t let that forum member down.

I’ve driven competitors like several gen of AMG e class wagon and m5 and those steering all suck too.

That’s the design choice of street focused a-Bahn missiles!

All the reviews of the new RS6 I've seen have been extremely complimentary...

RS6 in europe is literally the station wagon lambo, gets the same attention and has the same type of 'wow' factor. Minus the 22" wheels the thing is beautiful. I wish BMW made a M wagon.

Read this one

I’ll give you the tl;dr
  • you can feel every kilo of the 2,075kg kerb weight
  • there’s not much steering feel or sensitivity (especially with unpredictable and numb Dynamic Steering)
  • while we’re on the subject of noise, disappointingly, the exhaust doesn’t have the thunderclap and rowdiness of old
  • Sometimes not the most engaging drive. But up there with the quickest

I’m personally not rushing out to dump my EV and 911 to consolidate into one of those but I can see the appeal for someone who is already planning to add a $100k+ fast suv commuter to their fleet

They also rated it 9 out of 10, which is pretty rare, and said that it's "greater than the sum of its parts"

High praise.

I'm not getting one either, but I'd be surprised if anyone was disappointed by the way it drives.
