I think he's referring to the "pause" of torque when switching gears. Slamming Gears is no longer possible since the power is cut for a fraction of a second after each gear change.

Yes - on manual cars there seems to be additional DME programming that retards timing and lowers boost between WOT shifts - same request that this user has been campaigning for, for some time lol

We don't have that issue with our flashes. Our test car is a 6MT and there's no throttle closure or massive timing drop through the shift. The car just grabs the next gear and goes. It might be there on the factory flash due to how the tables are set which we change in our tunes. I'll try to grab a log to demonstrate once weather is nicer and freezing rain stops up here

FWIW, N54 6MTs were and still are pretty notorious for so called shift bog. That was in fact one of the first things I noticed coming from the N54 and tuning the S55 that was a VERY welcome feeling, no shift bog

Nice. Same overrun that's baked into all OTS maps, or was this a new cocktail?

Yes, this is the GTS style overrun that's in our OTS maps. Exhaust still has cats so muffled somewhat compared to full decat exhaust setups.

Would you guys mind contacting One Way Automotive in North Little Rock, AR to be a dealer? The owners name is Jason and he's the best BMW mechanic on the planet!

Wow, amazing stuff! A few questions:

1 - Please excuse my ignorance, but if a dealer flashes your car's software, does the tune get overwritten, and would it need to be flashed again?

2 - When going to a dealer, I assume that it is advised to switch back to the Stock map, but even with that, is there anything that can show up in their computers showing you are tuned? Or that the ECU has been unlocked?

3 - I've been around the E9x platform since almost the beginning, and have had both a piggyback on my car, and then moved on to being Cobb 2+ tuned.

I recall how BMW eventually coded into the ECU's hidden codes to go off based on certain parameters being exceeded, that would hint at the car being tuned, and hence flagging the customer's car for warranty purposes. And then the tuners figured out ways of not triggering those codes.

What is the situation with these cars? I mean, are there codes being triggered and being suppressed, or no one has yet seen any being triggered?

Is there anyone with a 6MT that can confirm this? I'd love to be able to slam gears and not have that slight pause in power drop after each shift.

I'm a customer if that's the case!

Also, since this is a flash tune, would it delete the CEL with down pipes or would it actually show as "ready" when hooking up to OBDII port? I'm currently running JB4 and obviously it's acting as a masking tape the CEL light but will fail when plugged into the OBDII computer when doing an inspection for the state. I'd love to not have to take out my down pipes for a day every year going forward.

PM if this is something we shouldn't discuss in a public format.
