Your going to need more camber for the RR's or any 40 tread wear DOT slick. -2.6 is probably barely enough for the NT-01.

Since you've gone this far, may as well go ahead and order up some purple crack.

Re-71r will not be an improvement over the nt01. What lap times are you running at VIR with your setup? That will help me figure out your situation

Hey man can you post a pic from the top of the fender of how the tire looks with this fitment? Also what height and camber are you running?

I used to run 305/30/19s in the front with stock height and no camber plate setup on Apex 10.5 et22 in the fronts with no issues. It was the best improvement I ever made to the car for the track...amazing the difference it made in my lap times. Always wondered if and how the 11'' wide wheel would work in the front while remaining relatively stock.

Low 2:09's with NT01 and OEM suspension. But if all conditions concur I'm sure I could have gone 2:08.

With the new suspension, I'm still dialing it in and adjusting. I expect I could easily go 2:08 in good conditions.

Stickier tires are out there, but it's hard to beat the NT01's consistency down to the cords. Plus IMO it's more satisfying to get a setup sorted and then keep variables consistent to gauge driver improvement, trying new lines, etc.

All true. And I did have a few HW changes recently so I’m far from maximizing that potential. Anyway.

I’m trying to get A052’s at the moment (low stock but I’ll find out on Tuesday). After these are done, I might try the RRs just for fun. And after that, I’ll post my experience and will do another round of thinking.

It isn’t inconceivable I’ll end up with NT01’s again next year.

As you have aftermarket suspension you can probably move to the BFG R1 in 275 square.

It grips more than the NT01/RE71 and lasts forever. It's really difficult to go through a set.

The fantasies so many people have about the NT01 regarding overheating and durability and actually executed in the R1.

Or go to the RE71 is 285/30 or 275/35 square.

For sure. And noise-wise, water handling wise as well

The good thing of the NT01 is the price.

Plus they make them in that elusive 275/35/18 + 305/35/18 combo that fits perfectly on Apex's standard setup.

With 18x10 and x11 wheels, 275 would be kind of stretched in the rear wouldn't it? I already have fuel starvation issues like clockwork, I'm scared to put stickier tires on lol.

Are you fuel starving on an M, or one of the cars in your sig?

I'm quite surprised, the 275/35r18 is rated for 9" to 11" width wheels. I guess all that sidewall is good for something.

If you stop letting the car go below half a tank you will no longer have fuel starvation issues

F82 M4 ZCP, on NT01s with Ohlins R&T.

I've started with the needle above 1/2 a tank (closer to 2/3 full) and couldn't finish the session without starvation. To be fair, it's an off-camber right hander so it's the worst possible combo.

Even with 5 gallon fuel cans and topping up after each session the only surefire way is to go to the gas station after every session. These cars are damn thirsty.

On our other local track I can do about 1 and 3/4 20-minute stints on a tank.

I just fill it up after EVERY session and haven’t had an issue since

Only track I've ever had fuel starvation on was Pocono Infield with 1/3rd tank. That being said, I'm also a 12 year old at heart and tend to slide the car instead of sitting at the limit of lateral grip. No starvation at Glen/Lime Rock/NJMP with 1/2 tank.

We dual-drive the car. 25-30min session, add a 5 gal jug in the pits and you're good to go

You need to end the session at half a tank, so you need to add whatever amount of fuel is needed to accomplish that.

There's no fix yet for this. It is so annoying. The E9X has a perfect fueling system and they brokeit for the F8X

In between stints? When we tried it, our sessions were back to back so I was adding 5 gal between every pair of stints. Only had enough time to hop out and hop in.

Gotcha. Yeah I called BimmerWorld because I know they came out with kits for the E36 and E46 cars, but they said they were aware of the F8X issues but no plans for a kit.

Because their M4 GT4 cars have fuel cells so it hasn't impacted them yet, makes it lower priority. Must be nice!!
